This looks, sounds, and feels SUPER spectacular~! I'm totally digging the whole vintage/moderne vibe the interface has going for the plugin thus far. My only question would have to be is if there'll be a Mac VST/AU version as well as the inevitable Windows (maybe Linux version too) of the plugin? Or will it be released firstly on Windows, gain traction, then be ported over to Mac/Linux? Either or, I, like everyone here, are very excited to give it a test drive~! Cheers~!

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

i thought about one thing :
LFO has "random sample and hold" waveform. How would it be possible to get the exact "seed" of "randomness" of the original TG77 cirtuits ? so that, for example when very low speed LFO - applyed on pitch - we would have some exact audio rendering as it is with physical hardware ?

There are not any LFO circuits in the TG77 it's all software. It's just software generating random numbers. It should be pretty simple to emulate the things like random sample and holdcslevine wrote: Wed Sep 25, 2024 9:22 am i thought about one thing :

This is pretty much impossible to achieve without knowing the exact algorithm they used. And then if it's based off of internal microprocessor, forget about it.cslevine wrote: Wed Sep 25, 2024 9:22 am i thought about one thing :

It's just random. It doesn't have to NULL.

i guess.
Well i believe this is not a big problem, because "sample and hold" is used often very quickly. i didn't enter very proof into some patch editings with Atari "SoundDiver" software, and i guess some special patch ( electroacoustic style ) uses more regular LFO ( very slowly ) and they will sound same.
and YES of course all is software,
. no analog circut,
. no geiger Cesium137 radioactivity based random mesure
( maybe one way to find a seed would be to programm on the hardware TG77 a patch with the most slowly "sample-hold" LFO -> pitch, then, ... test with playing if this is always the same seed, or if sounds always different with hardware. i guess always different even when star "PLAY" on CUBASE. if so : No need to deal with that )
After first release i think i and other could see more proof

About VST2 and VST3 :
is the VST2 developpement kit impossible to find anywhere ? i think that much of VST2 developpers has kept somewhere the files of the dev-kit, as i do with all softwares ( burned on DVD of course, as like as my own productions datas )
so that in the future, is would not be so impossible to compile in VST2 format version too.

it is not legally possible, the license for VST2 is terminatedcslevine wrote: Wed Oct 02, 2024 9:23 am About VST2 and VST3 :

What does that even mean? It's like a company tells you "It's forbidden to use RCA cables to connect your synth, you must use XLR cables". Are you going to listen to them or are you going to use what works best for you.
They break compatibility for no good reason, but people always come up with solutions - so what's the point then. Complete BS!

If sheaf signed the VST3 SDK agreement with Steinberg before August 2018 and didn't sign the latest VST3 SDK agreement, he should be able to still make VST2 plugins. If not, then it's not happening.

Oh I think they do want to know what cables you are using in your home. Don't be naive...carrieres wrote: Wed Oct 02, 2024 10:36 am We are talking about distributing software, nobody wants to know what cable you are using in your home
it is more like using pirated software !

I'm getting excited about the release of this instrument. Imagining programming this virtual beast! I'll be more than happy to help beta test it since I own a TG77 and can program some patches for it.

Getting excited about unreleased synths! What could possibly go wrong?
