Just to note:
YT does lower the volume of tracks over its threshold, but it doesn't raise the level of ones that are below...they just stay quiet! :)
Not sure about that. The tune sounded at about the same level as previous videos. That being said, it could simply be the video software I use that's bringing it up.

I'm 100% sure.

Here's a direct quote from Ian Shepherd on this very topic (mastering engineer for 20 years - Keane, Tricky, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Deep Purple, The Orb, Leslie Garret, Culture Club, Porcupine Tree, Andy Weatherall, The Las, Ozric Tentacles, Christine Tobin, New Order and King Crimson amongst many others.):

''So for example a reading of 6dB means your video is 6dB louder than YouTube’s Distribution Loudness level..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... - remember that YouTube doesn’t turn up quieter videos below its benchmark.''

If they still exist...

It's possible that functions such as Youtube's ''stable volume'': (balances the range between quiet and loud by continuously adjusting volume levels) might affect it to some small extent?

Or maybe their:
''Loudness Equalization'' function might make a little difference - (a feature that can help if the overall volume on the actual YouTube app itself is very low.)
