I could also wait until I hear something, maybe via this thread, that makes me want to get Sumu. We've waited this long, right?Gamma-UT wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 3:07 pm You could y'know, just read the manual and use the demo. Then you wouldn't have to guess what it does. It's not like it's some closely guarded secret.

Does the 'I dont have to do my own homework' attitude also extend to expecting someone else to clone it for you in PlugData?Sackbut wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 3:25 pmI could also wait until I hear something, maybe via this thread, that makes me want to get Sumu.Gamma-UT wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 3:07 pm You could y'know, just read the manual and use the demo. An idiot on Set Theory:

So we get a clear sense of the reality of your 'gift economy' thing again; you want a thing, but not at any effort of your own; its incumbent that everyone has to gift you their effort.
I mean Im not assuming your notion of 'gift economy' solely comes down to 'i want all the gifts, give me' but
....
I think you maybe missed out the 'r' in grift.

I think we all know the answer to that one – which is why Sackbut posted a link to this in the PlugData thread.whyterabbyt wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 3:34 pmDoes the 'I dont have to do my own homework' attitude also extend to expecting someone else to clone it for you in PlugData?Sackbut wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 3:25 pmI could also wait until I hear something, maybe via this thread, that makes me want to get Sumu.Gamma-UT wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 3:07 pm You could y'know, just read the manual and use the demo. It remains a mystery as to why someone who so unimpressed they can't be arsed to demo a synth is so keen to reimplement it by other means.

Well my suspicions are that its because 'the other means' is supposed to get them it for free.Gamma-UT wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 3:50 pm

Like that whole 'buy stuff from this failing company so we can get them to open source their code, so someone can compile it for me' thread.
(And probably the whole 'you should be doing these as plugins skinned with juce instead of as subpatchers' thing in the Plugdata thread.)

That's a good one, since we're already in a 'grift' economy.whyterabbyt wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 3:48 pmSo we get a clear sense of the reality of your 'gift economy' thing again; you want a thing, but not at any effort of your own; its incumbent that everyone has to gift you their effort.

'Whooosh' as in over your head at my efforts at the Plugdata thread (and elsewhere) that you, ironically, happen to be commenting in you mean?whyterabbyt wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 7:04 pmwhooosh.Sackbut wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 7:00 pm That's a good one, since we're already in a 'grift' economy.
This is a Sumu thread, so if you want to have it out, have it out a Plugdata's or with me privately.

Well, no, obviously. Have a second guess, and throw in a better attempt at self-importance while you're at it.Sackbut wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 7:08 pm 'Whooosh' as in over your head at my efforts at the Plugdata thread (and elsewhere) that you, ironically, happen to be commenting in you mean?

Again, this is the Sumu thread. Take your ego and/or problem with mine privately or, if it's about Plugdata, at that thread.whyterabbyt wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 7:11 pmWell, no, obviously.
