New soundware from UVI. I immediately think it looks like the Kontakt 8 Chords, Phrases, and Leap features implemented in the Falcon engine but I know some of those ideas precede Kontakt and UVI clearly have their own spin on the thing.

Looks like it's more of a "beatmaking tool" that generates chord progressions, etc. Interface looks cool though.

construction kits. probably great for people who make jingles or do stuff on spec.

I would not say it's construction kits as it's 100% MIDI based. We first did lots of sound sources (1600), then did some presets with those. So you are not limited to chopped predefined song like in traditional construction kits.

You'd probably have more interest in soundware if you enabled demos.

Does that mean midi out in Falcon will work with the generated midi ?

User manual only says drag and drop for the bare chords of the progression.

And scales are reduced to minor/major, it seems mix of loops and playable instruments, I would be happy if this is not the case.

You cannot trigger individual note from the daw in Mosaiq so you cannot use the internal midi to play the séquence back.

Still there is no audio loop.

Scale are just here to easily transpose the chord progression but you can create your own chord voicing so you are not limited to a specific scale.

Mosaiq is all about chord and being able to have différent sounds for each note of the chord.
You cannot play chromaticaly sound source out of the box

It’s pretty cool, You can have a different sample/sound for each note in a chord. Messed about with it for a short while, there is a ton of possibilities in it.

NI Playbox on steroids (even more so when you have Falcon). I quite like it

So exactly like Native Instruments Playbox.

.. and exactly the same damn drawback as NI Playbox. You decided to copy the negative points too? :hihi:

I am still wondering if it’s possible to use the Falcon Midi Out module to send the generated midi data (chords, arps) to other VSTs. Has anyone tried this already?

Ah don't get me wrong though, I do really like NI Playbox. I think it's a superb plugin.. which automatically makes this plugin really good too.

I just wish Playbox had a way to let us play it chromatically with our own chords from the keyboard when we happen to find a good combination of samples. That would make it much more versatile. There are some superb samples included in Playbox and I'm sure UVI has a huge set of good samples included too. That's one thing UVI is really good at IMHO, making great sounding samples.

I also would like to know this. Additionally I am curious how it works in Falcon 3, is it then also possible to use the midi chords on user presets so it's not only sample based but also possible on the falcon oscillators?
