Native instruments hardware serial question

Hi guys . I recently sold my native instruments kontrol keyboard .
Which I purchased second hand . It didn't come with komplete which wasn't a problem
As I got it cheap.
Now the guy I sold the keyboard now wants to register the hardware serial which is quite difficult when I don't even know how and what it does but he is a nice guy. Just wondering if anyone knows about this.

If you or someone else registered the HW serial to their NI account, someone needs to contact NI and ask for it to be deregistered so the new owner can register it and get access to any software that comes with it.

If that's not possible, I think I read somewhere that the person with the HW may be able to contact support and ask them for help deregistering other people (proving they are the owner). On my Maschine the HW serial is on the label beneath.
