adding my appreciation for the effort the dev is making to get this right, np here if it's taking longer as it's been a long time coming as it is. pulled up an archive with a TG-77 all over it, looking forward to a re-mix when it's ready.

just my 0.02, but given this is an awesome project with limited resources (and as an experienced dev), do not see the point in taking longer to support an outdated / unsupported system configuration. makes no business sense imho.

I agree with the comment above, I'm patiently looking forward to try this plugin when it's ready, those demos sound really good!

One question, will this plugin allow loading an unlimited number of presets/banks (e.g. more than the 64/128 user presets limit from the original hardware units) ?

you can consider no... and YES.
- "No" because SWAY will be monotimbral ( as the VOICE MODE of the TG77 ), so that it will load 1 patch at a time
- "YES" because VSTi patches are .vst3presets files ( each embedding microtuning, pans, effects related to each ) so the entire infinity directely available, with the most reliable and usable standardized way of recalling datas : files !

( and i will do the effort to upgrade to Win 10  )

But considering that the plugin page mentions "Manage patch banks" and that the screenshots show the current preset + left/right arrows makes it seem like the plugin will have it's own preset browser built-in (contrary to .vstpreset files which are handled at host level as far as I know).

If that's the case, it would be interesting if we could import and browse any number of presets. However since this plugin is an emulation (and a sysex controller for the hardware units) then it would be understandable if the plugin follows the same 64/128 preset limit as the original hardware.

It was supposed to be finished 2nd half of 2024. I sincerely hope this wonderful project ultimately does not end up being vaporware. Anyone any new as to ETA?

Fortunatly, this is not vaporware. This forum is very active.
Sheaf, the author of SWAY, writes each month about his work in progress and to do list. He is the only one working on this project and there are many of us here who hope for his good health.

He has right to think about not release to quickly some free beta test versions, and keep control over this project.

If Sheaf could share some sort of donate link, I'd be happy to support their effort.

Great idea, or even some kind of pre-order type deal

Sheaf gave us some outstanding demos to excited to a number of months back. Those demos showed off the amazing versatility of Sway and it's endless possibilities towards SY/TG synthesis. Hopefully, Sheaf is doing well and plans to update us on the beta release/full release of the VST. Just my thought...but this synth could definitely be a game changer as it seems the current VST market continues to clone repetitive instruments. Hope everyone has an awesome day!

+1 on doing donations! Hope this finds you well @Sheaf regardless of the current SWAY status

Every time I hear those demos on the website I just wish it were already available, just fabulous. It really gives the impression that it is already good enough certainly to be beta tested.
