This one uses an iOS app called Riffler. It costs less than dinner for two at McDonaldās and is a lot better for you. It simulates a rock guitarist and sounds somewhat realistic, especially when you add drums, bass, keys, etc. Thanks for listening.

What did you use the Apple Pencil for?
I've not heard of Riffler before. I see it says there are Mac/Windows plugins coming soon, but the copyright date on the page says 2023. Do you know if the desktop version is available yet?
Also, can you sequence your own parts in Riffler, or is it random generation only? Does it use sample or some kind of synthesis/physical modeling?

Hey jamcat! I use the Apple Pencil as a stylus. My fat fingers donāt work well with the iPad glass surface. I donāt know if Mr. Bell has a desktop version as I only use my iPad. He also released an app called Riffler Flow that does a nice job of simulating an acoustic guitar. There is a āManualā feature, but Iāve never used it. There are a number of controls that let you tweak the output. I can usually find something I like with a little patience. I think he uses samples, but Iām not sure. The āToneā control provides plenty of variety from clean picking to dense, crunchy metal. There is a āMIDI outputā function that generates identical MIDI data. That can be a lot of fun! I have used that feature to create some crazy speed metal stuff. I am working on something that uses MIDI to control some violin sounds. The goal is to generate some dueling riffing in the style of Mahavishnu Orchestra. If I ever finish it I will post it! Thanks for listening. Have a great day.jamcat wrote: Mon Mar 31, 2025 10:06 pm What did you use the Apple Pencil for?
