It’s available after installation (from the UI menu), but I don’t know if it’s available as a separate download.
Serum 2 is in the works, DMG Audio is also involved!

Dude, you can use oscillators and filters as mod sources?! I'm still disappointed that there's no Roland-style OTA filter

I too was hoping for more newer filters.
Though when Andy Cytomic Guru said he wasn't contacted to be part of the dsp team, I started tempering my hopes.

I haven't done enough with it to have a substantive opinion about the synth overall but I'm extremely impressed by what they've done with the UI/UX considering how much has been added to it.
Everywhere I click I find something new, and every time it's immediately obvious what it does & I spend almost no time looking around for specific parameters or trying to figure out how something works.
So far, this is looking really good

I just got it installed and I'm looking around at the new oscillators, arpeggiator, and effects rack. It looks great and everything looks easy enough to figure out. Seems like a very nice workflow, and I look forward to programming some new patches. I think offering the update for free to previous license holders says a lot about Steve's character. He kept his word when plenty of people thought that he would cave on his promise. So sincere respect!!
We all know that everyone and their grandma is trying to download this upgrade, and that could've been a decent chunk of money if he would've charged even a $50 fee. And even that would be extremely gracious given the amount of work that was involved to get to release day. Times are hard for people all over. But if you're fortunate enough to be able to afford giving Steve a tip on the website, please do that. It's been earned and is well-deserved. Cheers!!

On my Mac, it’s saved in the Presets folder that can be opened from the menu. If you have a menu item to open the presets folder on the Windows version, you might find it there?rod_zero wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 4:20 amnot opening in my end, do you have the file path by any chance, for windows?cryophonik wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 2:22 amIt’s available after installation (from the UI menu), but I don’t know if it’s available as a separate download.

I don't need to add yet another sound generator to the options. Especially a 200 dollar one. But this one seems so nice. The sample / granular features are easy to use yet powerful. And it does that ping pong looping to individual samples that's useful to getting large textures. The effects sound nice. The filters are quality. There are 3 oscillators and 2 filters now.
I'm digging the preset library. Some of the multi-sample SFZs sound a bit flat, but I understand that isn't the core of the product. Especially those thin and somewhat ringy pianos. And I kind of wonder if there isnt a bug with release time not being read correctly on multis..
Serum 2 almost does too much though. I'm a bit overwhelmed. I don't think I realllly needed a sequencer in the synth that is hosted inside a sequencer (DAW). Much of the numerous modulation sources and LFOs will probably never be used by me. Lots of panes on the screen at once. Brain overload. It's closer to an everything but the kitchen sink synth versus just a powerful wavetable synth now.
Yet I find the sound Serum makes is quite pleasant. Some synths don't in the ways this one does. I hope Steve Duda and the team is satisfied with what they've made here.

Yeah I'm pretty easily sending it into CPU overload on Windows with an AMD 5900 CPU. Not the latest and greatest but no slouch of a processor. High quality settings (default) at 96k and a smallish buffer though, I'll try dialing it back.bmanic wrote: Mon Mar 17, 2025 11:58 pm Hmm, pretty new to Serum as I never bought the original version. Has it always been a quite CPU heavy beast? I'm finding that pretty simple patches quite quickly add up to 20% core usage here on my Mac M1. I don't know why but I always assumed it was light on CPU compared to a lot of the competition?
Maybe Avenger isn't so bloated after all and I was just ignorant.![]()

Doesn’t take much to peg the DAW CPU meter on my 9950X system. It’s a little too heavy, but maybe Steve is designing for the CPUs of 2030?
There’s a noticeable difference to me between Good and high Quality, and the CPU use could be a major reason I pass on it. Not going to spend $200 for something I can’t fully use.

Very complete workstation now! Nexus 5 killed. I'll say this about the GUI: the way the elements are styled it really needs almost all of my screen size to be comfortable working (with my less than ideal eyes at least
), a lot of elements to deal with now vs version 1.

Ah cool ! Thanks. The site was not loading when I tried to visit it.ozinga wrote: Mon Mar 17, 2025 10:46 pm"What if I'm using Splice Rent-to-Own?Sindikhate wrote: Mon Mar 17, 2025 9:54 pm What is the deal with the Slice sub on Serum 1? Will people get 2 if they finish paying by the end of the intro price or ?
If you're currently on the Splice Rent-to-Own program for Serum 1:
You'll get access to both Serum 1 and Serum 2
There will be no price increase
Your payment terms remain the same"
