Yes, thanks for that. My point was just that as someone who doesn't own Serum yet, from the official info available, there was no way for me to actually know that beforehand.DaveGamble wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 12:20 pmLiero wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 12:08 pmThanks for the information! This should most definitely be included in the info bit in the FAQ, and currently it's not.DaveGamble wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 11:40 amKinda. It's actually just DMGAudio license file style with a bit of web finesse. I've been planning to make it so you can download your dmgaudio licenses from the plugins too, because getting license files to work on macOS has become deeply painful.Liero wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 11:24 am The copy protection seems to have changed from simple serial to Challenge/Response, with limited amount of activations?
It +does+ ask you for a machineID which is a hash of some stuff, and is in no way user identifiable or reversible. I don't think there's much of a limitation on number of activations. And if you did "run out" of activations, you can just delete 'em off the site without even contacting us.
My default expectation, which maybe isn't unfounded in today's landscape, is that companies do _NOT_ let you delete machine authorizations yourself and this is kind of a dealbreaker issue for me (truly hate C/R for all the trouble it has created for me as a person who upgrades and tinkers with my PC parts quite a lot, and thus messes with the hash).![]()

Steve looks so tired in that video.
I've noticed Serum2 now can handle drums work if you wanted it to do so. Since it can load wav files and the Osc Mapping can be adjusted to play a single Osc per note. Then you can treat your percussion with the sub osc, the noise, the filters, and the effects. Lots of creative potential.
Btw the timeout on the trial generates a loud noise spike which is probably not healthy for ears or speakers (or headphones

I am curious to see what skins will be made for this. I find the default to much dark in areas which makes it harder to discern certain segments. Lik the whole arp section and the mods being the same dark grey. And the whole FX section being that same dark grey (it all becomes one dark soup with the mod section and arp section beneath it having the same colors).
That's basically my only gripe. This thing is an absolute powerhouse.

Having very viable options for samples and mapped drum kits definitely makes serum into a much more formidable piece of kit. They were able to add quite a bit of new fun stuff without messing up what was good about the GUI which is nice. I only realized it was available today so I'm sure I'll find out more cool stuff.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

There is so much on the screen that I ended up with eyestrain and had to step away after the first play. It's too bad we can't hide the parts we don't want and give room to the parts we do. Even just hiding the lower strip with the keyboard and arp/clip modules.Morty-C-137 wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 5:36 pm I am curious to see what skins will be made for this. It's almost a version 3 with the amount of new items they've packed into this release.
