Improve metering options like listing the RMS and Peak digital read-out on the volume meter in transport. A mono/stereo button on the master volume. Make aux send and return built into the track like most other DAWs. A pull-out or stand-alone big volume meter with LUFS/K metering. Option to change the colour of the peak & RMS reference point. Option to quickly draw the loop in and out with the mouse. Option to shrink the Properties panel without loosing some features. More drag and drop options.

I think it would be nice if Waveform didn't get so baffled by the admittedly baffling VST3 folder structure. The attached graphic shows one plugin getting listed twice. The first listing has the full path to the plugin. The second listing is just the folder that has the exact same name as the plugin. Why does a folder have a file extension? I have no idea. But Waveform should be able to tell the difference between a file and a folder.
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Flex Chorus.vst3\Contents\x86_64-win\Flex Chorus.vst3
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Flex Chorus.vst3
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Flex Chorus.vst3\Contents\x86_64-win\Flex Chorus.vst3
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Flex Chorus.vst3
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

You have two versions (1.0.0 and 1.1.0) installed, right?pough wrote: Sat May 03, 2025 3:31 pm I think it would be nice if Waveform didn't get so baffled by the admittedly baffling VST3 folder structure. No, just the 1.1.0 version. This is from the knownPluginList64.settings file:
Code: Select all
<PLUGIN name="Flex Chorus" format="VST3" category="Fx" manufacturer="Minimal"
version="1.0.0" file="C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Flex Chorus.vst3\Contents\x86_64-win\Flex Chorus.vst3"
uniqueId="f478c884" isInstrument="0" fileTime="18da63e3840" infoUpdateTime="1936b207e44"
numInputs="2" numOutputs="2" isShell="0" hasARAExtension="0"
uid="8fdc3332"/>
<PLUGIN name="Flex Chorus" format="VST3" category="Fx" manufacturer="Minimal"
version="1.1.0" file="C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Flex Chorus.vst3"
uniqueId="f478c884" isInstrument="0" fileTime="19433edd4ed" infoUpdateTime="1966011e8d1"
numInputs="0" numOutputs="0" isShell="0" hasARAExtension="0"
uid="8fdc3332"/>
More than anything else, it just seems kind of silly to me.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Does it have Contents/Resources/moduleinfo.json file? Maybe it's a broken plugin vst3 bundle issue.

Please improve the GUI performance on Mac desktops running 1440 or higher and dual screens. I understand from other threads that this might be related to the need to support the Mac’s Metal acceleration whereas Windows and Linux benefit from OpenGL.
I’m currently testing a 2018 i7 Mac Mini with 32Gb RAM and Waveform runs at high CPU when full screen across two 1440 monitors with a large project open. Thanks.

There are many interesting proposals to improve this great software. Unfortunately this year there have been no announcements from Tracktion of any new features. In the past years in February-March videos were released (Tracktion Universe 2024) to present upcoming new features. This year nothing... How should we interpret this?

Yeah, it would be nice if they would throw us a bone every now and again. This radio silence is irritating. Just give your users 5 minutes of your time and let us know what's going on with 13.5.

While I would like to have a bone to chew on I also have to admit that this would likely only be a moment of contentment before the complaints start up again. (I still think they should do it.)dayvyg wrote: Sat May 17, 2025 3:56 pm Yeah, it would be nice if they would throw us a bone every now and again. This radio silence is irritating. I expect there will be bug fixes, new bugs to replace them, and cool new features - some of which will send noobs here asking why the new features do unexpectedly feature-y things. It feels like the "why do audio files change speed?" and "why doesn't record record" posts have only just slowed down. Actually, no. That second one was asked this week.
I think maybe the company has not expanded employee-wise but their portfolio has gotten bigger.
In the meantime, we can amuse ourselves by making up rumours. I'll start. I hear they're adding an AI vocals generator, but only in Japanese-accented English.
Surely there must be consensus by now...
