BFD drums worth getting if you already have some NI komplete drums?

Complete POS these days since it's owned and maintained by a company that painfully obviously could not possibly care less - my advice is to avoid it at all costs.

What about the BFD Player plugin instead? Same issues?

Maybe start with one of the BFD Player expansions? Those are $9 right now. The NI Abbey Road Drummers are indeed great, so maybe avoid the London kits.

It's quite soft. It could work if you're going for a Dave Matthews sound. Pop Essentials might be a better second choice, it's the Player version of the stock BFD library, which is highly regarded.

Yeah, I have that one and it is indeed not bad at all - is the Vintage Rock really more or less the same?

It's supposed to be the exact same samples, though perhaps streamlined.

It looks like they're still selling it on the FXpansion website, so maybe there's still hope? (Still owned by ROLI, right?)

I don't know if inMusic Brands buying BFD will save it, but I'm hoping for a better fate for Geist.
