I don't think Roland pre announces, so only beta testers and Roland employees would probably know that answer and of course they can't/wouldn't say.

While anything is possible it's doubtful. My educated guess is that the next wave of Cloud instruments will be based on whatever replaces Zencore at the hardware level that will then get ported over

I could see them releasing something and calling it V Synth 2 which would replace the current ACB and Zencore

Should be easy enough 20+ years later to make a better analog modeling engine than what is in the V Synth, and keep the same PCM engine from V Synths that is significantly better than what's in Zencore, to keep the same samples they have been selling since the 1990s

Wouldn't be surprised to see them add Wavetables also

They could also sell stand alone hardware and software that just has one of those engines

Something has to replace Zen Core, it's very long in tooth for Roland Product Cycles, and that well has all but dried up with hardware sales

What else could they replace it with that would allow them to keep on selling Eric's Samples, and make yet another digital hardware Jupiter 8, and Juno as well as a plugin of the same?

It would be very Roland to use a V Synth 2 branding, they after all did rehash Fantom branding and what came after that? V Synth

So yeah educated guess

still just a guess. :P

The previous screenshot was when I tried to automatically updated the rcm, which has failed.
Then I had to manually enter their website and download the installer, and got this message

They need to replace the RCM app with something reliable.
That app is the soul of your products and when it decides to screw you over every now and then you are left with plugins you can't use until you hopefully get the app to work.

Every 30 days you get closer to a disaster in one form or another when all your products needs a Re-Authorization or when you install a new update that is worse than the previous RCM Version.
Some are lucky for a while and other will meet the wrath of the horrible copy protection licensing system they use and you have to start troubleshooting the issue to get up and running again.

It looks like they still haven't managed to make a stable system after all these years and they are continuing to patch the big holes in it that causes new issues instead of fixing it properly in the first place.

Boycott and protest this bullshit until an ilok key option appears. The more you tolerate it the worse life will get for you naieve consumer.

if Roland doesnt care about their hosting/drm framework, why should we?

The iLok suggestion is already there for years, they dont care. All these DRM checks for expansions online have been discussed to death, Roland doesnt care. The constant nettraffic it does (check with littlesnitch or alts), Roland doesnt care.

But luckily there is Galaxias and a JC120 amp guys....ow and some boss pedals nobody asked for. Do at least the ce 2 / bf-1 then, jeezz

There are other ways, little grasshopper.

Such a letdown the whole charade, coz some plugs are really good. Love the TR range (although they should condense it into a TR8S V + R8 on stereoids) System8 is great, the D50 is unique etc.

Unfortunately, many of us can't just "boycott" RCM if we want to use the keys we've purchased. I wish I could as RCM has soured me on Roland.

don't care = The price of consumer not voting with his wallet. Lesson learned?

Don't forget Earth Piano :)

I mean it's not there were not already entire instruments in the SRX range dedicated entirely to Piano already, or entire Expansions in Zenology dedicated to Piano already, or that anyone was asking for it

But the world needed another Piano Plugin damnit
