I mean it's not there were not already entire instruments in the SRX range dedicated entirely to Piano already, or entire Expansions in Zenology dedicated to Piano already, or that anyone was asking for it
But the world needed another Piano Plugin damnit
The stubbornness irritates me the most. They have a golden IP, but fnurk it up big time, sad. It is not a single voice complaining, but it is all over the World Wide Web. Every spot where RC is discussed, ffs

My authorization stopped working a few weeks ago (see earlier in this thread) and I had to un-install, then re-install RCM and my lifetime keyed plugins to get them to work again. Last week, the auth stopped working again and I reached out to customer support. I complained that I shouldn’t have to completely re-install the software every time I want to use it due to RCM and its authorization issues. The support rep just suggested that I reinstall an older version of RCM to get it working again! Then it worked again. I asked him - what happens WHEN this happens again in a few weeks, the next time I try running this software. He nicely suggested I restart my machine - and/or potentially reinstall again.
So yea, they clearly don’t want a better experience for their paid customers. Absolutely maddening. I’ll never buy another Roland plugin until they fix their auth problems but I’m bummed that software I paid for will be perpetually unreliable.

Now imagine the fun of having that happen at a gig just minutes before show time (happened to me and I didn't have any Wi-Fi or good cell service), or in the studio when on the clockkenn michael wrote: Mon Jul 14, 2025 8:57 am My authorization stopped working a few weeks ago (see earlier in this thread) and I had to un-install, then re-install RCM and my lifetime keyed plugins to get them to work again. The sad reality is you can't trust it to be a serious tool as you can't count on it being uses me when you need it to
In the end I just sampled what I needed and used

How do their sh101 and jupiter compare to other offerings? Soz I cannot be bothered to go through the struggle of their installer thing just to demo them. For reference I didn’t like the TAL nor did I like the Softube; comparing to the real one. I am just wondering if Roland themselves have done a better job

And Plugin Boutique's newsletter indicates that there's going to be an 808 day deal tomorrow for 808. I guess it's gonna have a steeper discount than their other drum machine plugins. Maybe it even comes down to a reasonable level.

Iirc the Softube one sounded pretty close Roland's offering. I remember being surprised by that, because Model 82 was off compared to hw and I expect Roland's version be more different. I didn't go too deep with the comparisons, but it was enough for me to decide against choosing 101 as one of my play4life instruments.audiouser720 wrote: Thu Aug 07, 2025 4:25 pm How do their sh101 and jupiter compare to other offerings? I never understand these statements like "was off compared to hardware" with VSTs from high quality developers. "Off" how? Given that no two pieces of ancient hardware are going to be the same I'd be curious to know what this means.itanever wrote: Thu Aug 07, 2025 4:33 pmIirc the Softube one sounded pretty close Roland's offering. Hey audiouser, for what it's worth, Roland Cloud instruments are direct emulations of vintage Roland hardware down to a component level. So they are in theory the closest emulations out there. But of course, it's all up to your taste.audiouser720 wrote: Thu Aug 07, 2025 4:25 pm How do their sh101 and jupiter compare to other offerings? Roland use ABM and ACB modeling. ABM is a behaviour modeling, not component like ACB does.Jon at Roland wrote: Thu Aug 07, 2025 11:47 pmHey audiouser, for what it's worth, Roland Cloud instruments are direct emulations of vintage Roland hardware down to a component level. Many other dev use component modeling such UAD, Softube, U-he etc...
