Bitwig 6

So it seems, still I’m pretty sure I’m wasting a lot on content I literally never use. Sigh…

I just see it as content is bundled and free, and that I'm paying for the DAW functionality.

Every DAW has bundled content of some kind.

That’s fair for sure, about all I actually use is the modulation and some of the midi effects,
that’s about it. I could easily get by with the
essential version.

Of course, all this time I felt like I needed the
whole worx. It’s just lately that I’m considering
the actual reality of it. Since I’m pretty tired of paying for it over and over.

Does anyone know if there still is a 'Toggle Existing Automation Shown for All Tracks' option in Bitwig 6?
I use it all the time in 5 to hide/show all automation lanes on all tracks.
From wat I understand in Bitwig 6 A is the default shortcut key to toggle to the new Automation Mode which overlays/shows only one automation lane per track (the last-touched parameter or one you choose).
I hope in 6 you still can toggle between showing all used automation lanes on all tracks, not just one last used parameter per track.

Yes, there is a key command for toggle all automation lanes for selected tracks
and one for toggle all automation lanes for all tracks

Yes, the last added automation lane should appear at the top. And yes, the notes in midi clips should be more visible in the new automation mode.

One thing. Polarity said that there was nothing indicating whether a track has automation, but actually there is a 'dot' indicator in the unfold area. IMO, that dot should be darker to make it more visible.

In the beta of BWS 6 there is a bug that I suddenly can't type in the fields, search fields, exact values and so on.

Only by restarting BWS I can type again.

This is a massive bug for killing the workflow.

There are for sure a few bugs. I wouldn't use it for anything critical at the moment.

Just a quick question if somebody maybe has figured out if that works...

One problem I have with the new multiclip editing is that I can not easily place notes on top of each other... so using the multiclip editing as a normal "Ghost notes" feature...

I.e. I have a Chord sequence out of long sustained notes and I want them now to be my "guide lines" to set up a bass sequence following those chords...
And how things go it happens that I need to use the same octave for the bass notes...

I have found no way to actually create the bass notes now on top of the root note of the chord I already have...

Ableton did the same mistake first when they implemented the multi clip editing but have later made a lock feature that you could use other clips as actual ghost notes only without editing them "accidentally"

Is there any easy way (special tool, modifier) to create notes in one clip over the already present notes of another selected clip??

If not one would be forced to always work in different octaves ...as said the same mistake Ableton did first...

EDIT: Ok, there is still the old layers feature...there it works... but perhaps you know other ways too?

Press the Show Layers as List button, and then at the top of the list it reads Layer with an icon to the right of it (a funnel or filter icon). Press that. Now the other layer's notes won't be selected when you try to draw over them. You can even close Show Layers as List and the behaviour remains.

never mind, i already got more recent machine to run Bitwig 6.
anyway, my venerable 2012 Mac Mini retirement would happen sooner or later (well, not really, it's now reprofiled to do home server jobs).

And it's only in Beta. You sorted that ish quick AF Yo!

i didn't use Bitwig much for a while, so there's no point to get used to Bitwig 5 when Bitwig 6 is on the way.

I feel lost a bit....how can I get into editing mode when you change volume ( gain) and wave shape is being changed with it? it was so easy in 5 but here...I can't figure it out
