I still give Doepfer a pass on this because their modules are cheap, but, Make Noise should know better, same goes for any other premium brand. It's a red flag for me.
I don't mind Doepfer's design decisions. They make solid products. I just take a little extra care when moving those modules around. I've actually been thinking about putting together a Doepfer system, maybe it's just nostalgia.

Clearly I must be selectively color blind, lol. I see red stripes but not red flags.

One or two of my modules doesn’t have a red stripe, I think the Quadrantide Swarm has no indication and I put it in wrong. Luckily it has reverse power protection but yea that and my sliding nuts made building take much longer.

my only blown module was an obligatory doepfer wasp module. some say youre not a true eurorack user, till youve blown a wasp filter.
over loaded the input

A new CMOS chip should fix that right up, if you haven't done it already. I think that it's a 4069, but don't quote me on it.

Well, if you ever find it, it's an easy fix. I don't have a WASP filter, if I buy one though, I'll still buy the Doepfer to get the through hole socketed part. If they stop doing that, or even if they don't, I might just make my own.

yeah, i have no issues buying more doepfer in the future, i know i was behind the failure, theyre not expensive and as you say, this one is usually an easy fix (id heard this before, easy to mod too apparently).
things break, its the nature of things. the why something breaks is the issue :hihi:
usually, if something breaks here, its definitely me.

It's a uniquely cool filter, and yes, it's the 4069 chip that is the common culprit. :tu:

A lot of hard sync and fm shit
How original

Trying to spend longer on a song than I normally do as I rather like this new one I’ve written.
I recorded it over a beat but the performance drifted so been playing in the drums and percussion by hand one instrument at a time to fit that audio which is long winded but fun in its own way.

Are you safe?

A failed experiment that maybe might not have been a failed experiment if I just stopped poking at it at the right time and embraced the rhythm it coincidentally was making at the time. Or maybe it would have driven itself off the rails, I'm not sure.

Anyway, it's not really an experiment if it has no chance of failure I guess.
