Decapitator.
Aliases like hell but it's still one of the very best.
I kind of view Kelvin like a fancier more refined version of Decapitator.
Also like Neold Big Al, Korneff AIP, Softube Harmonics.
The new Relab one is fantastic.

I keep coming back to Plugin Alliance The Oven, LTL Silver Bullet and Tone Projects Michelangelo and Kelvin.

Oh man.. for mixbus/mastering I'd have to go with LTL Silver Bullet (I'm actually saving up for the hardware). But for individual tracks, to give them some spice and mojo, I'd go with Kelvin. Silver Bullet works absolutely best when it is very subtle and not doing much. Kelvin can do both subtle and really driven gooey mojo.

.. oh and I forgot to mention a now somewhat hidden gem. Plugin Alliance Vertigo VSM-3. It's a bit tricky to setup correctly but once you understand how to operate it, it is very unique and nice sounding. Both for mixbus and single track duties.
EDIT:
Oh one more gem for mojo: Softube Chandler Germanium Compressor. You don't even have to use the compressor part to make things sound ridiculously huge. Just remember to reign in that heavily boosted sub-bass if you crank the germanium drive + feedback knobs to full tilt.

Yeah, i find that with Silver Bullet it's important to keep the volume going in safely low, otherwise, ka-blooeybmanic wrote: Tue Oct 28, 2025 2:06 am Oh man.. for mixbus/mastering I'd have to go with LTL Silver Bullet (I'm actually saving up for the hardware). NAM (yes, the amp sim plugin) with one of the many captures of outboard gear in Tone3000: https://www.tone3000.com/search?gear=outboard
only for mono channels, but the tech is incredibly realistic.

Yes agreed! I've demoed both silverbullet & Kelvin and I gotta say silverbullet is very heavy handed. But if you keep adding instances of silverbullet in subtle mode you can really hear it by the time it reaches the master channel . Pristine saturator. Although, im unsure about how good it is on the CPUbmanic wrote: Tue Oct 28, 2025 2:06 am Oh man.. for mixbus/mastering I'd have to go with LTL Silver Bullet (I'm actually saving up for the hardware). forgot to ask....with silver bullet, how do you set the oversampling to minimize aliasing? i cant see any option there for it. for example in standard clip you can choose x32, x256 etc...bmanic wrote: Tue Oct 28, 2025 2:06 am Oh man.. for mixbus/mastering I'd have to go with LTL Silver Bullet (I'm actually saving up for the hardware). Hey bmanic - i saw this release announcement this morning; have you seen this?
https://www.kvraudio.com/news/berglind- ... d-au-65136
I have a feeling this is a good one.... was looking if you made a post about it
Hope to try tomorrow. But i'm exploring/learning saturation - not at your level at all, which is why i hoped you'd made a post
It seems to hit the spot with ease of use/versatility, low aliasing/low cpu and seems (not sure) to not only have Valhalla's look, but maybe also the 'fixed price' thing, as there's no intro sale.
It's also from a Swedish dev
And there's a free version..
EDIT: If it's that good, then $30 obv is a great price and (almost) 'no-brainer' to most

Hi bman,
Would happen to have a starting point preset for using VSM-3 on the mixbus??
thanks!
