I think (not sure) it s hardware release, unless they also have a software version, no idea.
No, it is hardware. It just got leaked today. Apparently, it's a 2-osc 4-layer 8-voice synth that mimics the Microwave 1 character and costs 350 euros.

This will be a big hit for Waldorf. Getting one for sure. Even got effects? Wow.

Like what Arturia did with MiniFreak? That would be absolutely fantastic.

More like what Korg did with Wavestate, Modwave, and Opsix.

Independently? Or like you buy the hardware and get a plugin too.

Sorry, see my Korg comment.
Is the different between the Korg ones and Arturia that the former were the exact same between hardware and software because they were fully digital, whereas the Arturia was real analog in hardware and emulation of their own hardware in their software?

Post

I'm not sure why I'd buy a Waldorf Protean plugin... unless it had a really good M filter emulation, but frankly, I'd rather they add an M emulation to their Microwave 1 plugin, along with an MSEG. That would be, IMO, "da bomb," as the kids say.

Word.

We are not even sure IF the new synth is gonna have a software counterpart. I have no idea where did Uncle E see that… Still no source in that claim. I believe it’s a hardware release only.

Sorry, you’ll have to read between the lines with my Korg comment. I can’t say specifics.

Maybe both are sold independently. Maybe with a discount? Isn't that what Korg did with their Wavestate hw and plugin? I don't remember them giving it away for free.

If only uncle E had owned an online music store named jrr shop and has had it for over 20 years and therefore would have information from manufacturers long before we the general public had.
If only...
