”Bad Cat” is blues/jazz focused piece with guitar, NS Chapman Stick, and Zendrum. I had the main melody idea for the guitar but recorded the drums first, then the guitar, and finally the Stick. I then went back and replaced the drums. I tried adding piano and sax (played on LinnStrument) but the piece became too cluttered. In my advancing age I might finally be coming around to the “less is more” philosophy after applying the “more is not enough” approach for most of my musical life.

Haha, yeah, as a composer, you constantly have to distinguish between "less is
more" and "more is more." And it always depends on the song ... there's probably
no one-size-fits-all solution.

"Bad Cat": Beautiful song: played with a light, jazzy feel. The guitar is particularly
striking, with a beautiful, memorable guitar riff. The distorted sounds add a touch
of "heaviness" and substance. I find the song itself coherent and complete.

Overall: Excellent instrumental! :tu:
