Speaking of which, I'd love for Absynth to add a spectral oscillator in the future. :D

Honestly I am really surprised that you're honestly really surprised this synth release gets so much attention.

Absynth is an iconic synth.
I am surprised again, iconic for whom?
I am just kidding, the noise of this sound machine gives me negative vibes just like Plasmonic, I could assume both synths were developed by same dev
Yes but absolutely not the same synthesis
They both have and transport negative energy, that's what I meant, was not talking about synthesis

Well, NI was right about embracing the weirdness. This thread has truly brought out the weirdos. Molesters and negative energy. SMDH.

NI lost many customers over the last years, the reasons are obvious and they will never get them back!

exactly...I haven't seen anything functionally or heard anything sonically that really separates it from all the other hybrids out there...what is it the mseg designer?...crystal had a sophisticated mseg designer with per voice delays that each had a filter and each filter had a sophisticated mseg designer, with patch morphing which could also be modulated, over 20 yrs ago...xphraze also had copious modulation that could also double as sequencing over 20 yrs ago...biotek has had 32 stage polyphonic msegs with robust per stage triggering and looping controls over 15 yrs ago

people act like "evolving pads" have ever been hard to make...and how many musical use cases are there for patches that evolve forever?...the more they do the more that nulls the ability for them to be expressive in performance by the player...the dominant use case would therefore be film scoring?

lots of powerful hybrids have been ignored...biotek for over a decade, karmafx for yrs, hyperion for the first year, horizen still...a huge hybrid that is workstation class on the same tier as halion, falcon, MSF, avenger, and synthmaster has been out for months with no buzz in sourcelab...even though it has the whole daw in a plugin thing that people seem to think is so innovative when its really not

yet the ubiquity of NI, nostalgia, and sentimentality for a radioactive green GUI has this thing everywhere...the only thing I've seen remotely analogous in mentions was serum 2...
as always the market and as an extension kvr is fairly irrational...will make an interesting case study in the intersection of marketing and consumer psychology for business schools ;-)
well said!
I think there is a hype for Absynth, also cuz some people have mental issues, take this fact into consideration for your case study, as well

All the nonsense after this first thought makes sense only because of you're hatred for NI I guess? :hihi:

I bought Absynth 2 when it came out, if I recall correctly Absynth 1 was more like a standalone synth, and Mac OS 9 only. Crystal is pretty great, but FFS it's not anywhere near Absynth in sound. There's no rational reason you could think that's a good comparison, you're just trolling. Why do you all do this? if you don't like the weird wavetables in Absynth or the wave shapers, or the delays that to this day are pretty unique that's fine. It's OK not to like an iconic sound. I could give less than a f**k about the 303, but other people love it, and I'm aware that it comes down to personal taste. So I don't enter 303 threads talking about how worthless I find that sound.

KVR is filled with spectrum trolls who for some reason need to shit on other peoples favorite things. Sometime I forget I'm not on 4chan, seriously. What makes it so hard to understand that: Not all synths have you, your sound in mind? You're lack of interest isn't interesting or unique, and not everything is tied to your perception of what is commercial and what is boutique.
Nah we like absynth because we have mental issues that cause us to enjoy negative energy. Case closed.

It runs standalone on Maschine 3?
Intel Core2 Quad CPU + 4 GIG RAM

You mean Maschine+? AFAIK no.

What, do you work for Tracktion?
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

I would posit that a person that thinks a synth other people like "transports negative energy" and means they have "mental issues" might be projecting, just a bit.
