Do you have a crash report file to sent you the informations about the crash ?
On Mac, a crash report usually pops up (but don't send to Apple, send to us)

On Win I think a few DAWs keep their own. We don't really, but we have an option to write into a log file. You can download the Zebra2.log from here and rename it to Zebra3.log: https://u-he.com/support/faq.html#troub ... g:crashlog

This may have some hints in it as to what's going wrong, or where.

In any case, we appreciate crash logs to be sent to support at u-he dot com, and people there also know much better than I how to get logs and what to do with them.

How can you create csv files for importing?
Also assuming at some point there will be a notch filter and presets for envelopes etc

Thank you Urs for the great release & the T-Shirt!

A short Question about Zebralette 3, was MTS-ESP dropped for a reason or will it be (re)_added in a future Update?

Would be sad to see this feature (even being niche) been gone.

A few snags I've encountered:

Mac M1 Ableton Live 12.3. VST3 version.

Adding a modulation to the mapper from the slot in the Mapper doesn't always bring up the modulation. e.g setting the modulation slot to LFO 2 doesn't bring up LFO 2.

The controls to add/delete/duplicate curves (using right click) in the timeline in the editor is kind of hit or miss. Sometimes it bring up the menu sometimes it doesn't. I get either lock, the distribute menu or the add menu.

am i wrong in saying the formant effect just attenuates rather than change formant in a positive manner?

We used scripts and our internal analyser to create them, and then hand tweaked them in Excel or Numbers.

They are not necessarily meant to be edited by anyone, but the format is open enough so people can create their own methods.

We'll provide a set of profiles that we think makes a lot of sense.

Yes, at some point.

I didn't know MTS-ESP was dropped from Zebralette. Are you certain?

What's this about a T-Shirt? :)

This is my experience as well, especially with Kore standard oscillator shapes rendered by either engine - I am guessing this effect might work differently on wave shapes that have more obvious formant data such as sharp peaks above the fundamental. I keep meaning to try it on waves like that, maybe I'll have time today

Dr.Gunjah wrote: Mon Dec 15, 2025 2:52 pm Zebra3 actually has a similar feature. If you select a mod at the bottom or in the mod lane on the right, the targets show a tiny yellow (?) dot where you can also set mod depth. It's just way too subtle, and if a target is within a collapsable page (like FMO->width) you won't see it, unless it's expanded and not out of screen. It also does't work for the direct modulation slots - For example, if I drag Env1 directly onto curve morph, I see the yellow dot, but if I drag it onto the direct modulator slot, there is no dot.
The backwards search is also there thanks to the "remove modulation" dialog, but yeah it's not pretty and it also doesn't work with the direct modulators.
I guess, it's a similar solution as in Hive 2 then. This would work OK, if you wouldn't have destinations in different tabs, which then could lead to not see some modulations. Although Urs is claiming, that he doesn't like tabs, there are not few in Hive of them. Nothing wrong with it, I have no problems with tabs. But showing modulations on GUI widgets after selecting a modulator is either just supportive and doesn't replace a full matrix or list. Or you need a non-tabbed approach (as in Phase Plant) and then you can show all modulations via that approach.
BTW: modulation solutions in Phase Plant or especially in Pigments are also very elegant.

Please let us label the Control A-D knobs with meaningful descriptions.

Basically they are just tables with 3 columns for harmonics ratio, attenuation and decay time. Totally open to experimentation...

The formant effect is very dependent on what's driving it. Either the Curves or guides.

Select the formant FX and select Guides as the source and leave the formant morph knob all the way to the left.

Draw a guide that's a horizontal line that traverses the top of the window and turn up the formant attenuation fully.

Now start pulling narrow cuts down from the top.

You can then copy that guide by selecting all points and copy, then select the next guide slot and paste. Set the morph control in the formant to the centre and adjust to taste. Repeat the previous copy/paste step for the third guide and set morph control all the way to the right and adjust.

Modulate the formant guide morph with something to hear the effect.

I'll never understand the war against tabs. I see business people complain about tabs all the time, and everytime consultants and developers remove them, the same users turn around and complain that it's worse without them because the common alternate is scrolling. And as much as people dislike tabs, they loath scrolling.

Once you break the practical limit of objects that can fit on a screen, grouping like items into tabs makes a lot of sense. IMO Serum is a more fluid experience than Phaseplant because you have logical areas grouped in a small number of common sense tabs (oscs, FX, matrix, mixer) and unlike PP, you don't have to constantly collapse and uncollapse multiple objects to make useable screen real estate.

PP's UI is certainly great and innovative in other ways though.
