Yup- I don't think so many on 7.2 will pay for 8 but V7-V9 for 99 bucks will probably be fair-

I think the rebrand is a giant mistake. By choosing to highlight the parent company's name - Fender - a guitar/amp brand, they immediately distance themselves from anyone _not_ interested in guitars and amps or anything to do with them in their DAW. That means electronic music producers, classical arrangers etc. I moved from Studio One to Cubase when Presonus elected to move Studio One more towards a performance DAW (like Ableton Live). I am not a performer. I am also not a guitarist. Plus, on a side note, they also apparently broke SSL integration with this new release. I do use SSL hardware. So all in all, a laughable series of mis-steps - none of which, in my opinion, will result in more market share for their DAW. Put another way, if Apple ever did come out with an Apple Car, would Android and/or PC users rush out to buy one? Or would an Apple Car fair better (universally) by using non-Apple branding? Perhaps some branding experts could chime in.

I should mention that I never created a Fender account, so apparently it was done for me behind the scenes and all my stuff moved over.

I'm sure this makes sense in context, but I laughed when I saw that they added a command for "Delete Account".
Like I just imagined hitting Shift-Alt+D and it just instantly wipes out your account and license

I fell cheated somehow. First not live up to their promises, now changing studio one's name. If it was free upgrade I can stomach it. But no, here you are: underdelivered upgrade with taste of betrayal.
There weren't official presonus announcement yet, so my hope is not gone entirely. But I surly won't pay this time (first skip from version 3).

Finally Fade I/O in Sampler and Drum Plugin!
Single click to open Plugin GUI yes!
Now the rest.. well bunch of plugins, overview panel at top and Ableton like channel strip at the bottom. I guess all no one was hoping for. Maybe makes sense upgrading from 6 to 8 but from 7-8 for $99 I am not sure, especially if you do not care for the amps and other plugins.
I do not like the rebranding either.
Anyway at least they are alive

Free upgrade to 8 for me, who recently bought an upgrade to perpetual 7. Nice.
I don't mind the rebrand. "Studio One 7" and other numbers, beyond v1, were always awkward to say. Fender Studio is easier to say and search for. I'm glad that at least a real music company bought Presonus and Studio One, instead of it being a private equity firm or some AI thing. The account churn was a bit annoying, though. At least that's over with.
