Single click to open Plugin GUI yes!

Now the rest.. well bunch of plugins, overview panel at top and Ableton like channel strip at the bottom. I guess all no one was hoping for. Maybe makes sense upgrading from 6 to 8 but from 7-8 for $99 I am not sure, especially if you do not care for the amps and other plugins.
I do not like the rebranding either.

Anyway at least they are alive
I feel the same. For $99 for 7 to 8 is not justified at the moment.
Will wait for some reviews and future discounts if they want users to migrate to 8.

You might also want to keep a eye on this...few posts starting to trickle out here and there on other forums indicating that if you "buy" the upgrade (vs getting it as part of a plan) looks like we get 2 years worth of updates vs just 1.

If this is true (and I am trying to confirm) - this will be a buy and hold for me...

okay guys i think its worth pointing out ableton is trying to charge its users 120$ for softube wrapped 5 plugins in the bottom window so presonus doing this ableton style for all plugins is really fricken awesome. They already had the best plugin window management of any daw now they give users both the ableton way and the s1 way - incredible.

I bought the upgrade in Oct 12, 2024, no free upgrade for me, so if its 2 years of upgrades that a new thing...I didn't get much for my year...buy for what you get currently, not what you may get!

Too be honest, 5 softube plugin (with Ableton wrappers or not) isn't a bad deal for 120 bucks!

You mean CTC, no? As far as I understand: some of them are now integrated into v8.

no significant changes/upgrades to the browser = no upgrade for me. I don't see a reason to upgrade here at all.

Overall I like it. Looks are more refined, more 3d. Way better than overly busy Cubase which I was trying to get away from.

Coz they're already included now. ;-) :-D

CHF79 upgrade for me from V5 - now we're talking!
Having said that: what's actually new featurewise?

Is there no Trial version? I'm more or less just curious how it performs than anything..

doesn;t look like it, I wondered the same thing, why come out with a daw, no one can test drive. these guys are wild and all over the place. their website is like trying to navigate a guitar website, oh wait that's because it is.

Where do you peeps see the upgrade path? I just logged into https://my.fender.com but can't see anything. I also logged into the main Fender store, but it only lists the app at full-price. I have a Studio One Pro 7 perpetual license registered to my PreSonus/Fender account, just to spell it out.

Post

License checks now only occur once a year, as far as perpetual licenses are concerned. So we shouldn't get locked out of our DAW unexpectedly, as has happened in the past.
