Uncle E wrote: Mon Jan 19, 2026 8:16 pm That's interesting! Still, in the case of Soothe and Neutron (and maybe also the others), there seem to be a lot more than 4 bands.

I should mention that I'm also only going by the marketing, as resonance suppression isn't something I use.
Don't get me wrong, the dynamic EQ curve of Curves Resolve has a lot of bands. But what I previously meant by "4 bands" is the area of the spectrum where you would like to have more/less effect applied. Soothe has also only 4 bands for this purpose, plus a HP & LP.

Oh, that's cool. That's a smart way to do it.

EDIT: Nevermind the Gforce product was already automatically registered.

If you go for this deal the product will register automatically, no need to manually register:

I think I'll open a new Mixcraft thread in the DAW forum since I rarely if ever see anyone talking about it. I don't need another DAW but I'm always open to trying one out.
I got the license but will not install anytime soon ,..

Just some extra reward for the getting the Cherry instruments so to say

Got Cubase and S1 ,.. so no need for a new DAW

But I vaguely seems remember that it can make simple movies also

If it can produce small videos quickly, with some some basic audio-features also, all-in-one,
or have some other triks ,.. that might be reason enough to install it

HUMBLE BUNDLE:

The sample-content ,.. downloaded all ,.. but what a total bunch of garbadge :dog:

Reggae/dub is my department, so I listent most to this package, only a joke, obviously
made by people with no skills or feeling, just to have a "reggae" package in the shop, :D

Unfortunately I guess this the general level of quality from Soundtracks

There also was a 25$ stor-credit to use ,..

But I did not find anything else, at all, worth even a download in the hole shop

Not that I care much, just impressed how low they can go, even in a cheap bundle :D

I installed and spent some time with Mixcraft. Not immediately impressed but will spend more time with it here and there.

If the samples can be used in other DAWs/plugins it might worth the install but if the samples suck that negates any benefit.

I downloaded some of the sample content that was part of the Humble Bundle but so far it's 95% loops which I have no use for. I guess the loops are meant to go well with Mixcraft which at first glance seems more aimed at Loopsters.

Haha, in case you can tell anything factual about "Soundtrack Loops" ,.. feel free :tu:

Not dissapointed, I had no expectations, just surprised it could go so low, even for the price

If someone can use any of it, then fine, but is that the case ? anyone here ?

(not that I want to hand them over, just curious if anyone actually is happy to use them at all)

Could be the case, I rarely use loops either, just curious, and then surprised :)

My bad that I wasted a little time, data transfer was at flatrate, no harm

I will reply to your new thread in case I get Mixcraft up running

No use here. Downloaded previous deals and they just take up drive space. Would love to give them all away, but transferring the multiple GBs to another makes it not really worth it.
Deal fillers that don't really amount to anything for me. (I've gain an absolute aversion to phrase loops. And have noticed negative reactions from listeners when I did in the past. Even non-musicians seem to have an innate sense of what they are.)

Thanks for the reply, agree, guess you sum things up well here

Loops can be well made for sure, (unlike these), but I normally dont see any use

Loops work aginst you in the procces taking things your own way, as the origin is elsewhere

In the best case they can inspire you ,.. but you have then to start over from scratch

Btw I just ordered some packages from Dubmatix, that I find usefull training, but that is
sets of full-lenght seperate multitrack stems, to re-mix or dub the old fashioned way, guess
that will be the closest I get to loops from now on :)

Loops are very good for injecting different rhythms and chords etc. They can inspire you to try something different. Get the vibe and make your own beat. Most people who play guitar for example, have a limited palette of ideas. Putting on your producer hat and listening to other ideas can expand your horizons. If you like the taste of jazz, put a loop in the arrangement that is 'out of key' with everything else. It may inspire you in a modal way.

Anyone who says these loops are not good must be bullshitting. Did they really go through all the packs that quickly?
Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

That hasn't been my experience. Perhaps you should aspire to play with better musicians.
You do know that musicians created those loops? They're nice examples a person can learn from, but claiming them as your own in a composition is deceiving to the self and others.
Even the best loops restrict a person unless they're collage crafters slicing and pasting.

I know many repeat that thing about "great artists steal".
But the real truth is "thieves steal". And there's no greatness to that.

Whatever your comfort zone I guess. To each their own.

*Trigger Alert*

Somewhere around the year 2000 or so I discovered Sony's Acid Music. They had a bunch of free loops and I purchased a couple of disks of them as well.

I cobbled together some fairly nice tracks and most of my friends loved the results.

However it all felt hollow, empty, and artistically unsatisfying. It didn't feel like my music and in fact one friend commented "that's not you" and he was right.

Ever since then I have not used loops as I consider them a crutch for "producers" and not a tool for musicians.
