NI are one of the most important brands in music technology, sure they have taken a few wrong turns and VC has not helped with direction…but their products are still great….a new Reaktor release could do a lot to bring people back on side, it is one of their most loved products.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Izotope is MASSIVE in the post production market. I suspect they might just focus on that.Grizzellda wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2026 7:01 amWell, NI should make it, I would like to think, man they brought us some cool products, who would dare deny that. What began as Generator became Reaktor, is this correct?ckoe wrote: Sun Mar 01, 2026 5:56 pm Do you think PA, Brainworx and iZotope will survive when NI does not make it?![]()
They also make beautiful hardware, in my view!!![]()
Yeah, so I am an Canadian asshole over here, calling on NI to keep going and give the world some good solid German engineering products! Grizzellda LUVS products!!! MORE PRODUCTS!!!

I don't have a crystal ball, but my feeling is that Reaktor might end up with a similar framework to Kontakt...
Load the libraries and have a certain amount of editing within the interface and then have a deeper editing page...
It's a bit old and clunky,so NI need to rebuild it from the ground up...
But that is not their focus at the moment...
Right now, they are just trying to keep the lights on
No auto tune...

Yeh, it’s a tough balancing act, but more than anything they need to keep their customers confidence…I think updates (like the recent Massive X update) really help with that…ultimately if people stop buying their software during the restructure it will be the end.

So true. I pop in to this thread from time to time to check if anyones learned anything of substance about the future of the NI products. This time I get "it's just like you know how I'm vegan riiiight? Well it's just like that". Name the trait anyone?machinesworking wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2026 6:37 am
You've been here in some capacity since 2018, you should know by now it takes about 8-10 pages before a topic opens up to anything but the topic. I think we've already had the obligatory 5 pages of two people arguing quoting each other until it's one multi quote post per page.![]()
P.S. - I'm just having fun with you mate, no offence.

Yeah, Izotope products are nice, luv the clean look of the basic GUI. Sure they should focus on that stuff...and well, everything really. I keep coming back to the hardware, that is a different level, definitely worth upholding.

I think a lot of people would be happy enough to see gui scaling, like 5-10 years ago. But I highly doubt that even that will happen at this point.digitalboytn wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2026 9:36 am I don't have a crystal ball, but my feeling is that Reaktor might end up with a similar framework to Kontakt...

Of course. Even if NI goes under there are too many valuable assets that will be sold to other companies to generate one last wave of cash.ckoe wrote: Sun Mar 01, 2026 5:56 pm Do you think PA, Brainworx and iZotope will survive when NI does not make it?
But I don't think NI will go under.

Couldn't be offended if I wanted to be. I didn't bring that shit up, I just commented on how dumb the jokes usually are.
Personally these threads are just fun, like "When will Trump finally kick the bucket?" speculation. KVR isn't going to have insiders talking about details or anything truly revelatory. I don't think any of us have made any super salient points. When we do get news on what they might do, someone will start a new thread anyway!

OK there is good information on that one anyway, NI have been working on a Kontakt 8 style front end for Reaktor, because apparently the code is a massive hunk of spaghetti that would be harder to get a GUI fix for than just starting from scratch. So a Kontakt like front end, and when you program it 8 bit tiny GUI underneath. That info is a butchering of what evildragon wrote, who works for NI at least part time.digitalboytn wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2026 9:36 amSLiC wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2026 8:02 am NI are one of the most important brands in music technology, sure they have taken a few wrong turns and VC has not helped with direction…but their products are still great….![]()

It's great for exploring new plugins, listening to users talk about solutions they've found etc. evildragon and the other occasional developers that chime in might give some insight, but I don't think we're going to figure out in this thread how to save NI, or if NI needs saving. We just don't actually know enough, it's fine, it just leads to rampent speculation and doom spreading etc.
I'm not trying to be a super cool dude or whatever, just being a realist.
