Classic as in the ones that adhere to Xenakis/curtis Roads’ vision of what granular synthesis should be.

Just discovered this thing and wow.
The video really caught my attention, but I was like, well if I already have Serum 2 and Z3, there will probably be lots of overlap.
But then I downloaded the demo.
Sheesh dude. So ruthlessly efficient, so easy to get flexible and unique sounds, and 2-3% Cpu in FL on my old i7.
At this point I don't even care how much overlap there is, I simply must have this thing.
Beautiful piece of work.
And with rent to own currently being 40%, that is very generous, and instant purchase for me.
So many times, I've bought a synth, thinking it was going to revolutionise my workflow (Avenger, for example), only to find I'm not using it after a month or so.
But this... I'm already thinking about the multiple uses I already have planned for it.
This should be a dream for vocal samples and the likes.
Oh btw, a bug:
When saving a preset, the V and X keys add a random letter or 2 after I press the key (for example, pressing V actually enters "vp")
That's just the 2 I found when saving a preset named Vox 1
Haven't read this thread yet, but hopefully you are getting great feedback for this thing

I think everyone who spends time with Ultra is very impressed- it is one of the best synths available at this time in my opinion, but it will be fighting for space…it’s not cheap (even on sale), it’s a new developer so not much track record, it’s a ‘phone home’ type protection system with a connected on line patch shop (will put some off) and it’s competing against synths many of us already own (serum, pigments, current etc). If I didn’t own so many similar synths I would probably have already
bought it…as it is I think the ultra wave is worth investing in, but I am inclined to wait a bit and see how it’s developed and if the price drops at all (maybe via promo codes).

I've been enjoying Ultra.
Any chance of exposing the Stereo control in the various sections (i.e. Warps/Filters/etc) to the DAW for modulation?
Thank you for your consideration.

I really like how the developer has found a new way to push wavetable synthesis in an unexpected direction. If money was no object I'd pick this thing up. I hope the developer has enough success with this Synth to continue and perhaps build upon it.
Beware of the gatekeepers and attack dogs and stay safe.

It's nearing completion. The settings looks like this:
And when enabled, the mod sources on the left look like this:

Linux is currently in development and is working. We need to clean up a few things before it will be ready for prime time. Graphics look good.audiojunkie wrote: Tue Mar 17, 2026 7:05 pm When will Linux support get added? We are trying to be patient.![]()

I don't comprehend videos with so much bla bla.
Is a tool to create music? or just a noise creator or is it just a software to talk about specs and features? Didn't hear any music?!
I am wondering who your target buyer is, obviously musicians are not.

Download the demo for yourself if you are a musician.
This synth is exceptional.

Oof, well that makes things easy. I was going to kick tires on this but I happen to be one of those put off. Which is a good thing, really. Helps w/ my vst addiction, the very last thing I need to make music is another software synth. It's probably counterproductive in fact, at this point to keep buying them, but I digress.SLiC wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 8:51 am ... it’s a ‘phone home’ type protection system with a connected on line patch shop (will put some off) ...

I contacted them and they offering “offline activation” if this is what you want.

Its true, we (probably) all have way too many software synths and they all sound great, but the particular strength of this synth (IMO) is how fast and easy it is to work with, so it may not be counterproductive. Its definitely not an no brainer price and its very earlier in its development, but I do believe it is worth 'kicking the tyres' (its a pretty unrestricted demo) and keeping an eye on...especially as the developer seems to be adding lots more (MPE coming soon, Linux, granular oscillator)nusound mind wrote: Fri Apr 03, 2026 8:48 amOof, well that makes things easy. Just tried the latest demo. Wasn’t mouse/trackpad scroll on controls going to be implemented? Doesn’t seem to be. Unless it’s a setting?
