What do you mean by "spectral editing mode"?
There is a spectral curve mode in the main OSC, but I have not yet found any way of drawing a shape representing clean & simple harmonics in the wavetable editor.

An easy test is to try to draw a curve representing a clean sine wave - only a single fundamental or harmonic - which seemingly cannot be done in the wavetable editor. This requires two overlapping vertical lines, which merge into a single point in the current wavetable editor. One can draw curves with points with a distance, but that means potentially unwanted distortion…

Do you have a better suggestion to handle this?
Maybe this?

Yeah, you can draw individual partials. Go into the editor, select the harmonic grid. Then go to the shapes tool and there is an option that looks like square wave (shape 4). Use that tool and start drawing from the bottom right inside each partial of the grid.

A single fundamental is very easy with the above method and creates a clean sine.

No, that is using the Grid Move Y tool, and that first partial will actually be partials 1 and 2. Use Shape 4 (looks like a square wave) instead. Then it is individual partials.

With Grid Move Y tool you can set the volume of every partial and it sounds like partial 1 not partial 1 and 2. Just clean sine.

At work right now, will test later. But looks like I am just stupid.

If it works I’ll head back and edit my previous posts regarding this…

I just tried Grid Move Y and it's partial 1 and 2. Always has been. I'm wondering what you did to get a different result?

I think it's better to ask Urs in this case. One of us has a bug.

Post

I think it may be a difference in the precise curve math vs. fast/rough. One might interpret a vertical line as the start point, end point, upper point or lower point and the other may do this differently. I honestly don't know right now.

Post

Urs is right. It's the Curve Math setting. I have it set to Precise. Fast and Rough only includes partial 1. Precise does 1 and 2.

Hell yeah, this is the reason I got those weird partials when I tried to draw things in! Gonna edit my post and make this clear.

It feels a bit weird and inconsistent though. Should it be a bug or feature?

Can we expect a new theme next beta? Not a huge fan of this dark & alien green combo.

The UI was completely redesigned after all the feedback we got. The parameter layout is now consistent across modules (tune always left, volume always right, stuff like that), the green was dropped for a darker grey that brings contrasts out, modulation is colour coded, readability is maximised.

But most of all the new design is more tweakable for us and for theme designers. We know it's going to be too dark and too bland for many, so we'll probably create alternative colour concepts for it.

That's great news. Did you guys do anything on the LFOs? I wish it followed Hive with the big visualized curve (doesnt need to be animated when being modulated). Since we got Slew, Symmetry, and the Spice modes. It would be real nice if we could see what they're doing instead of just hearing.

Sorry, no extra visualisation of LFOs or envelopes...

Should we expect the next beta either tomorrow or next week?
