It's a pretty easy task.

Granular will be an entire new Oscillator type. There's too many knobs to make it a mode of samplerEchoes in the Attic wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 1:50 amJust out of curiosity, will this be a mode in the sampler OSC orbits own OSC type? Would be handy for it to be one if the modes within the sampler OSC in case you wanted to switch from one mode to another.ultra_audio wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2026 9:55 pmI have a design for it. We have a few other things to do first - multiple ultrawave oscs, multiple machine signins etc.simmo75 wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 2:34 am It was mentioned that granular was being added, any ETA? Cheers!
Serum keeps the loaded sample in mind when switching between Sampler Osc types, that's a pretty good idea, so we'd do something similar.

Authenticating your ownership of the plugin you purchased is only one what to do things. Having to stay logged in to your software synth beyond that just to use it is f**king annoying, and it's crazy that you question people for having a problem with that. It is for sure the reason I passed on this synth.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 6:20 pmWhat would done of those reasons be aside from the issue of using multiple computers (which I fully agree would be a massive pain, but they are addressing that)?TheMaestro wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 6:13 pmWhy? There's 100 reasons why.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 6:02 pm Yeah why would you log out before going offline? Aside from needing to switch computers and re-login, but they've already said that is being addressed soon.
I'm really just curious why one would need to sign out of the plugin?

If you think being logged in to a synth is a reason not to use it that is entirely up to you. Every synth thread on KVR has people saying they won’t use ilok, log in or call home systems (although this is most DAWs!) but still we have them, it won’t change so you just have to pick from a more limited range is synths, it let’s be honest…there are lots to choose from!
Anyway, let’s get back to the synth rather than the copy protection for those who do want to use it and I hope you find something that works for you.

You are logged in to a synth forum complaining about having to log into a synthTheMaestro wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 6:29 pmI'm not here to spoon-feed you reasons you should easily come up with yourself.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 6:20 pmWhat would done of those reasons be aside from the issue of using multiple computers (which I fully agree would be a massive pain, but they are addressing that)?TheMaestro wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 6:13 pmWhy? And if it's not an issue, why do you have to be logged in in the first place when you're offline?

I think (hope) this synth will have a long future and become one of the 'always mentioned' synths, especially when it has MPE and Granular...the Ultrawave alone is enough to make it desirable!
Developers have to try new things, if they don't work they will change them and the developer has already offered multiple logins etc, so he is listening to feedback, but given the credit system and on line shop etc, I think the log-in will stay, it doesn't seem to have harmed Pigments or Current sales and they work the same way....linked to trying/buying pre-sets from within the plugin which personally I find quite useful (and I don't even mind the credit system, it was cool being ale to use it to get more pre-sets even in the demo version and great to be able to use it on 'single' pre-sets not just packs...)

I really really like this synth too. But I wont invest anything into this because you have to be logged in, and logged.SLiC wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 12:47 pm I think (hope) this synth will have a long future and become one of the 'always mentioned' synths, especially when it has MPE and Granular...the Ultrawave alone is enough to make it desirable!

And I bet no one has ever asked for an in-synth preset shop in any synth.

How is it good consumer practice to HAVE to be logged in to a VST???PieBerger wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 7:40 pmI'm sorry that you do not value common sense and or good consumer practicesTheMaestro wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 7:31 pmOr you stay out of it if you don't have any valuable to say.PieBerger wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 10:34 am Try a different synthesiser if you don't like the terms of use for this one, there are plenty to choose from![]()

In reality your are logged in by default to any VST that phones home, it just doesn’t show you as logged in in the GUI, but you are logging in…same with most DAWS nowadays. I think most people are bothered about the ability to use a DAW/VST to run without internet connection for live use, Ultra allows that AFAIK.TheMaestro wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2026 12:17 amHow is it good consumer practice to HAVE to be logged in to a VST???PieBerger wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 7:40 pmI'm sorry that you do not value common sense and or good consumer practicesTheMaestro wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 7:31 pmOr you stay out of it if you don't have any valuable to say.PieBerger wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 10:34 am Try a different synthesiser if you don't like the terms of use for this one, there are plenty to choose from![]()

There was a time when people thought they could get lower latency etc if their studio DAW wasn’t connected to the Internet, but with modern PCs I’m not sure that’s an issue any more, my DAW remains connected and I use Splice integration in Live daily.

It’s good consumer practice not to purchase or be involved with a product whose terms of use you are not comfortable with. There are plenty of people who don’t use VSTs with iLok for example. If you don’t like the terms, don’t buy the product, seems pretty common sense to me!TheMaestro wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2026 12:17 amHow is it good consumer practice to HAVE to be logged in to a VST???PieBerger wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 7:40 pmI'm sorry that you do not value common sense and or good consumer practicesTheMaestro wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 7:31 pmOr you stay out of it if you don't have any valuable to say.PieBerger wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 10:34 am Try a different synthesiser if you don't like the terms of use for this one, there are plenty to choose from![]()
