If you think that goofy video from Sept 2024 and any of it's "announcements" are still valid here in mid 2026 (like " x number of updates per year" ) - that died long ago.
Now that Fender is officially on the badge and Presonus is not - we are back to the old school method (circa v6) and have been since v8 came out - which is : "When an update is ready - we get it".
No one over there is keeping count of how many updates we get or when we get them - that is certain

Yep. The new policy that is in effect now is they release one update per year, right after your free update period has expired.

Well, if that's true, all you have to do is what I did with v7 and wait until the cumulative updates make the upgrade seem worth the money. That way you might sneak in a free version upgrade like I did.
Autodesk had the same problem 20 years ago, when they were promising four 3DS Max updates a year and had all sorts of hassles delivering on it. It was at about the time I started working for them and it was surprising to learn how easily the schedule could be derailed. Even in a relatively big team, 3DS Max had more than 20 devs, if someone was off sick for a week it could put them back two or three weeks and if they had big problems with something in the schedule, they'd often have to push it back to the next release, making that release seem really lame. Everyone complained, no-one was happy. (No-one ever is, no matter how hard you try to do your best for them.)Vocalpoint Studios wrote: Sun May 31, 2026 8:13 pmIf you think that goofy video from Sept 2024 and any of it's "announcements" are still valid here in mid 2026 (like " x number of updates per year" ) - that died long ago.

It’s here! It’s finally here!
my Little Orphan Annie decoder ring has finally arrived!
Now that I got that out of the way, is there any news about Studio Pro 8.1 yet?

Too late, I've already switched to Cubase 3. The floppy discs add vintage 90s saturation.

Not delivering on the promises they made is becoming synonymous with Fender/PreSonus for me lately.

I would say giving a little false hope on product launch dates is pretty standard these days. I cannot think of any recent "pre launch date" marketed product that comes out as promised. Steven Slate is a king in this, lol.Fornicras wrote: Tue Jun 09, 2026 9:33 am Not delivering on the promises they made is becoming synonymous with Fender/PreSonus for me lately.
