I've just tried the beta - I don't see the point of removing the properties panel but was looking forward to the ARA2 integration.
However, Melodyne doesn't appear on the Stretch menu. I was also hoping to use MTrackAlign (which I believe should also appear on the Stretch menu) but it is not there either.
Has anyone got this working or am I missing something?

I can see on the GitHub thing that someone is complaining that Melodyne is hidden under the stretch menu and dRow chimes in to agree and believes that it should be placed somewhere else more intuitive. But like you, I am not even able to find it under the Stretch menu. Maybe it's so well hidden that we can't find it even though it's there? There isn't any more recent beta that I am aware of.originalskid wrote: Mon Jun 01, 2026 11:57 am However, Melodyne doesn't appear on the Stretch menu. Seeing is believing
I had to clear my plugin list in the settings and rescan the VST3 plugins; after that, I was able to use the ARA plugins without any issues.
No software is perfect, but the way people are bashing this new release — which is still a beta version — is completely unacceptable.
For me, the 14 beta is perfectly usable so far and addresses many of the points raised in the previous survey. I don’t understand why people are being so negative about Waveform here. Start learning how to use it.
The better you master a piece of software, the less frustration builds up. And if there really are specific bugs, report them through the channels provided by Tracktion.

Thanks for that! I'm not sure that I would have guessed to do that, but it definitely worked.phreak wrote: Mon Jun 01, 2026 6:33 pm I had to clear my plugin list in the settings and rescan the VST3 plugins; after that, I was able to use the ARA plugins without any issues.
Some people are definitely... experiencing strong feelings. I'm not sure that I would call it unacceptable. Most of the time people bother to comment when they don't like something.phreak wrote: Mon Jun 01, 2026 6:33 pm No software is perfect, but the way people are bashing this new release — which is still a beta version — is completely unacceptable.

Yes, thanks for the tip! I can now load both Melodyne and MTrackAlign but unfortunately I can't open the GUI for MTrackAlign
Perhaps because it needs to be applied to several tracks at once...
I am not bashing the new release but I think it would have been nice to retain the option of using the properties panel. After 20+ years of working with it I know where everything is, it stays open all the time and is extremely useful. I would not describe it as "cluttered and obsolete" as I have always felt it was one of Tracktion's outstanding features. Now everything is lumped together in one long list which I find quite frustrating - especially when the data is the same and could be displayed in two different formats.
Other than that I think for a beta it's looking good.

+1 for that. Anything odd happens, and the properties panel has been the goto location for identifying or correcting. We haven't jokingly called it the "useful panel" for no reason !

I'm also a big fan of the Controls Panel, for reasons mentioned and also because of what it does to the transport and quick settings - I prefer text over icons. But here are the main reasons why I think they're moving away from it.
1. Redundant - everything is now also in the Actions Panel
2. Horizontal controls layout can't be easily added to - vertical controls can just scroll to see more
3. Actions Panel is very easily customizable
4. Most monitors need vertical space which the Controls Panel takes up
That's how I see it. I don't like it, but I find it hard not to respect it. And this isn't to say that there aren't any advantages to the Controls Panel, just that there seem to be more advantages to the Actions Panel. And in any case, it's their baby and they obviously have their own preferences. It's not just them raining on our parade; we're trying to rain on theirs. As a resident of the PNW, I'm expecting rain no matter what.
To have the option to move the Actions Panel to the bottom and scroll horizontally could be a decent compromise.
I also wish we could move the transport to the top. Hovering over those damn icons and looking somewhere far away to see the text help is annoying. With my blurring eyesight, the snap icon looks like the DropBox icon.

That's not much of an excuse, to be honest, I'm used to 3 fullhd monitors, the action panel implies a monitor of at least 21x9 ultra wide, and the file manager itself was very inconvenient before, but it could be bypassed by hiding and leaving the lower properties panel, which always worked. And if I understand correctly, now the entire load of properties and controls inside the project is tied to this side-open highway, where you need to switch between different windows or open several lanes on the side, and into a single, inseparable line of consecutive windows, which will now be always open, and of course I still can't separate this one. the interface element from the main window, in order to position it conveniently and accessible on the second monitor, rotated into a book format, convenience is definitely not their merit
I have a suspicion that I probably won't upgrade to the new version anymore, but apparently now I'll have more time to fully translate the old one into my interface language. ,)

I might not be understanding everything that you were trying to communicate, but it sounds like you're saying that the Actions Panel can't be detached and moved to another monitor. That's not true. It's detachable. I just tested in 14.0.26 (which is no longer the most recent version) and I was able to move it to my second monitor.Maarid wrote: Wed Jun 03, 2026 8:46 pm And if I understand correctly, now the entire load of properties and controls inside the project is tied to this side-open highway, where you need to switch between different windows or open several lanes on the side, and into a single, inseparable line of consecutive windows, which will now be always open, and of course I still can't separate this one. the interface element from the main window, in order to position it conveniently and accessible on the second monitor, rotated into a book format, convenience is definitely not their merit

Yes, the automatic translators go crazy from time to time, and I don't always check the translation quality, sorry about that.pough wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2026 4:52 amI think you're asking ME to take a screenshot of the ACTIONS Panel on a separate MONITOR...?
Um, I understand that only the action bar has become separable, or does this feature apply to all sidebars now?

No. The Brower Panel is not dockable. Also, the Transport (Controls?) Panel at the bottom does not move.Maarid wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2026 5:05 am Um, I understand that only the action bar has become separable, or does this feature apply to all sidebars now?

@Maarid , instead of moving everything else than the Arranger View to a new monitor, why not move the Arranger View to a new monitor? This should work, or? I think this worked in W13 and W12 as well.
