Hi everyone,I’m Matt, and I just released Heretic, the first plugin from my new boutique effects company called Wired Saint.
Heretic is a multi-mode distortion designed for character-heavy processing. It’s got five different distortion algorithms under one interface:
- SOFT: tube-style saturation
- HARD: brick-wall hard clipping
- RECT: octave-up fuzz via rectification
- FOLD: wavefolding
- CRUSH: bit + sample-rate reduction
The Drive and Shape knobs behave differently in each mode — asymmetry, scream filter, fold density, decimation, and so on. The visuals respond to the mode and parameter settings, and there is a utility bar with a handful of help features like automatic gain compensation, bass crossover, etc.
