Announcing the launch of ULTRA

I´m, struggling with the creation of my own ultra waves.
in particular the whole -stereo- L - R thing. (left - right)
- is there a stereo editing in one go available ?
i can follow the idea that we can, -respectivly "have" to-, make a L + R selection independently.
- just, R remains R, L remains L
- Some of my waves/audio are -unwanted- asymmetrical
- i´d like to do correction work. for example take a tail section from L, but also place it at R.
- i can´t find any commands, popups, or whatever way to do so.
- L remains L, R remains R. Whatever i try to do.
A nice short to the point video vs. that particular situation, L vs. R, re. ultra-wave creation, would be very welcome. Or some rough and quick screenshots to show where exactly to click.
Or: some further development in case it effectivly lacks there some functionality
personally, i bought ultra just alone for exactly this specific feature set, the own creation of ultra waves. Guess i´m not alone there.
In general: some more videos on that front would be awesome
i found only the clarinet creation video right now. is there more in that -"create a ultra wave"-regard ?

2 other things:
is there a way to run TWO ultra-wave VCOs ? How ?
If not: FR
ADSR:
i can´t comment how other VST Synths are, better or not, no clue. ( i never had a problem with those synths i use. But it´s for different types of sounds)
But here the Sustain part "needs" in my opinion to have a much more refined resolution "vs." low settings.
The first 10% are as is now, much too coarse set up. 4% is too loud. 10% is way too loud. even just 2% is too loud. YMMV
It makes it fiddly to handle, and it´s still much too coarse. YMMV
(that was vs. Amp/Vol use)

Got it, thanks. (Tiny and overcrowded system drive here, thank you Appleultra_audio wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 3:56 amYou can find and move the ULTRA_DATA folder if you like. We would not recommend putting it on a network share.Old Norse wrote: Wed Feb 04, 2026 10:11 pm Apologies if this has been answered already, but how do we move the patch library to another drive?

I don't. Not in the synth itself. I like my transactions to be upfront and atomic.ultra_audio wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 6:56 pmI understand some don't like the concept of a Store...Velden wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 10:59 am There already is a Store tab that can't be hidden. It's more than enough. Please consider removing the Get more sounds banner at the bottom of the Library.
This is exactly as I saw it. I found the available presets somewhat disappointing though. At the moment at least. It took me a moment to understand that there is no upside to buying a pack vs a single preset. All in all, not bad an experience, though.ultra_audio wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 6:56 pm Everyone is given enough credits for 66 new patches, you could think of it as being able to choose 66 more patches for your factory library.
That's what I noticed and that was what I wanted. Would have been slightly better if there had been a way to voluntarily dismiss the banner.ultra_audio wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 6:56 pm You don't have to buy any more credits if you don't want any further patches, and if you download any single patch or pack, the banner disappears.
I have no objection whatsoever to remunerating the work and talent of others.ultra_audio wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 6:56 pm I personally think that the store gives artists an opportunity to make some income from their sound design talent
And yet, I might. This wasn't a bad experience. I'd still prefer an option to just hide the store tab when it's not needed.

Yeah. I genuinely thought that something had gone wrong. A corrupted bitmap resource or a new version of the knob hacked late at night by someone with too much caffeine in the blood. Blurry. Too much reflections.ultra_audio wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 7:08 pmThe knobs have been the same since at least 2019... I recently found a picture of a very early build - same knobs! lol.Velden wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 5:21 pm (I don't know why the black caps, silver rings knobs in the GUI are bothering me so much, I'm not even sure they have been changed, but they do look to me like they are trying too hard.
I now think it just got in my face because after a few days, I saw the synth again with high zoom in, as I had left it, and the same things I liked before suddenly looked... well, different.
Anyway, judging by the reactions of others, this doesn't seem to be a shared sentiment...
Sounds too much like work to me.ultra_audio wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 7:08 pm We do have a skin system built, so you will be able to get skins with knobs to your likingIt's not ready yet though. Later this year.
I'd appreciate at least an alternate skin, though. A light one?

I'd like to suggest extending the sound palette by adding Lo-Fi effects, kind of like Arturia Tape Mello-Fi, or Sinevibes Stator for example.
Some way of creating voices divergence too like U-he Diva Trimmers, and/or just maybe consider to have some of the pertinent effects routed per voice...

I've also been making improvements to the import so wanted to get those finished before recording something.
There are a lot of editing tools, but you need to make an import first. The process I use:
- Run the auto import
- Adjust settings to get as close as I can to the best result
- Complete import
- Load the edit page for a sound
- Make adjustments there as required

There is a voice number modulator, you could use it as a mod source to adjust things...Velden wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 6:00 pm I'd like to suggest extending the sound palette by adding Lo-Fi effects, kind of like Arturia Tape Mello-Fi, or Sinevibes Stator for example.

It's not exactly what you're asking for, but we just released a version where you can turn off the different coloured themes for fx etc. So everything would look like the default.Velden wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 5:21 pm (I don't know why the black caps, silver rings knobs in the GUI are bothering me so much, I'm not even sure they have been changed, but they do look to me like they are trying too hard.

Ok, i see. Yes, that will be very welcome !
i worked based on that video. I was following +- the steps you describedultra_audio wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 8:10 pmYou can copy and paste cycles from one channel to another, you just have to do it in the edit page after importing.

Ok, to know that this one goes -soemhow- is already a help.
Thank you for the time

look yourself:
While it says you can´t. it somehow says you can....... / and: i don´t visit manuals every day. so sometimes things get lostYou can have one UltraWave osc in your patch, in any of the first 3 Oscillators.

Still loving this synth! I've never been so compelled - or so vocally enthusiastic - about a synth before. Really enjoying it.
Question about the glide / portamento behavior: Shouldn't it move from whatever the last note was to the new note? To my ear, it currently just rises from a lower note (hard to tell what the interval is, exactly) to the pitch I'm playing every time. So I don't hear it glide from higher note-->lower note when I'm playing a descending line. Can this be fixed, or have the option to have it go from last note to newest note in either direction? The glide up sounds cool sometimes, but not always what I'm after
