Hi again.

Here is another form of "multi-action" that would be very nice to have -

Consider multiple phrases on a track like so:

If we would like that info exported as MIDI (to files, or to a DAW), we currently have two ways to go.

1. Manually export each phrase individually by selecting it's span on the timeline and then Ctrl- dragging the track name. This would create 4 "chunks" at the destination.

2. Select the full span of all the phrases on the timeline to export to a single chunk at the destination.

Here is a picture of the result of doing these two procedures (dragging into Studio One, in this case):

These options are very flexible and helpful as-is, but there is one more way to do it that would be a super-boost for productivity in some situations.

That would be to offer the option to automatically create all individual chunks at the destination in a single drag-out. IOW, RC would consider the phrases as they exist and act accordingly, creating the top line of the above picture in a single operation.

For example, this could be done by Shift- Ctrl dragout instead of just Ctrl- dragout.

Thanks for considering this, as bulk enablement of this sort would be a big time-saver for interop with other programs when more than a few "chunks" are desired.

I think that cutting audio file is not enough. There are two options.. Either audio time stretching to align audio length to tempo, or advanced midi time stretching, which will pack midi result according to tempo and size.

There is a keyboard shortcut for moving to the next bar. In Settings -> Keyboard Shortcuts -> Timeline - Move play back position next bar and previous..

I use CTRL- Right and CTRL-Left and I set it to global..

I know that one. I am looking to move from phrase to phrase and then use arrow keys to transpose up & down quickly. Actually, intuitively, I would reach for left & right arrow keys but they move the phrase.

This is a real-time Audio to MIDI plugin, in particular, converting voices into MIDI events.

The implementation of this free plugin is far from ideal.
It seems to me that most of the work on implementing this in RC has already been done. Maybe in the future it will be possible to implement it?

Your images don't show, try using snipboard.io instead.. The free account gives you more than enough space for the casual user..

Other tabs have some padding on left, can be less. Navigation on top have almost perfect size/place (remove 3-4px height maybe, buttons too big), but not for composition. On Phrase Editor buttons maybe rearange.

I have an issue with RC vst3 version.

I open an instance of RC vst3 in a DAW (e.g. FL Studio) and route its midi output to a VSTi e.g. Sytrus.
I open Chord Selector window and select Preview Using Active Track Instrument from the menu. This allows sending chords' notes to Sytrus.

When I select a chord from the Chord Selector window to preview it with Sytrus instrument, the midi notes are not stopped after selecting the first chord. When I select the second chord, its notes are mixed and cluttered with the first chord's notes and the output midi notes from RC never stop and I'm obliged to stop the notes by the stop button inside my DAW.

It seems midi-note-off messages for the previous chords' notes are not sent to the DAW and previous chord and current chord's notes are mingled.

I have to agree with this. Other things like, switching from phrase to note mode everything resizes and shifts so lots of tinkering over and over. Still RC is the only game in town with this functionality...

welcome to this forum, and thanks for your suggestions!

I'll do my best to fix this until v5.5. Each tab has its own size that you can set and the sizes are restored when you activate the tab next time. But having a common width would be a good idea.

Other tabs have some padding on left, can be less.

So you are suggesting that the padding on the left and right should be removed?

Navigation on top have almost perfect size/place (remove 3-4px height maybe, buttons too big), but not for composition.

Maybe an option could be added to reduce the button sizes. But the sizes are the same everywhere, I just checked.

On Phrase Editor buttons maybe rearange.

Will you be more specific how they could be rearranged?

I had a good laugh at this... Yes, this could be done much better. The monophonic audio-to-MIDI algorithm that I worked on for several weeks is more precise, and it outputs continuous pitch-bend and expression events. I want to integrate a real-time version into RapidComposer soon.
