I'm actually not looking to battle with anybody. I'm just stating the realities of this business. Honestly, do you see anymore Flexion threads being started here, or anywhere for that matter, asking where the synth is? Nobody cares anymore. Give Sway long enough and nobody will care about IT anymore either. How long will that take? Don't know. Could be a year. could be less. But it WILL happen if people don't see something eventually,Uncle E wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 6:50 pmGrab a beer, the IvyBirds vs. wagtunes battle has only just begun.Teksonik wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 5:01 pm Anyway I'm done here before one or both of us gets suspended or banned. Some perspective Flexion was introduced with great fanfare way back in April 2015 at Musikmesse and still isn't out
SWAYED was introduced on this thread in January of 2024 just two years ago and should be out in a matter of weeks
Anyone drawing any kind of parallel between those two plugins is deliberately being obtuse, but feel free to get back to us in 2035 if SWAYED still isn't out and let us know your comparison was valid
Now take a look at Zebra 3 which was first teased in 2012, that was 14 years ago and there still is quite a bit of interest
It took 14 years for a public Beta also

Except the difference between Zebra and Sway is the company. U-he has a massive following and is one of the most respected names in the business. Their customer support is 2nd to none. When Urs says he's working on something, people will wait for it because they know it's going to be good.IvyBirds wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 2:02 am Some perspective Flexion was introduced with great fanfare way back in April 2015 at Musikmesse and still isn't out

And the interest in Flexion, another company with no reputation, died long before 2026. In fact, go find me a thread on it any time after 2017, if even that long.
You cannot compare the two.

All I was trying to do was show perspective, now you want to change the parameters to other things to have an argument sorry not going to play that game. You made the point a plugin with a 2 year public development cycle will fail because one with a 11 year cycle did. Either time frame matches or it doesn't. Clearly as we have seen with Zebra 3 it doesn'twagtunes wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 2:09 amExcept the difference between Zebra and Sway is the company. SWAYED is different than Flexion because it's a known entity with a built in user base. Why? Because it's based on the Yamaha SY77. People know when it comes out exactly what they are going to get. So anyone who cares about the SY77 will not have their interest killed by waiting a few weeks, after all they have been waiting since 1989
People who don't have an interest in the SY77 are probably not paying attention to this thread anyway and can't lose interest in something they don't know exists. Once the plugin is out on a few weeks it will be talked about and people who have no interest now will see than and get that interest
In any case if you are looking to start an argument with your moving the goal posts you won't get one. My only intent was to share perspective that Flexion isn't a great example in comparison with SWAYED

Well, I guess time will tell. I hope you're right. I've been waiting for an SY 77 since 1989 too.IvyBirds wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 3:03 amAll I was trying to do was show perspective, now you want to change the parameters to other things to have an argument sorry not going to play that game. @sheaf: I've been listening a lot to your excellent chillwave music lately, especially to the phenomenal Daybreak album and the transmission EPs. I wonder to what extent did you use the SY77 or even SWAYED on those tracks? What other synths do you use regularly?

On the Transmissions EPs I used multiple instances of Swayed in every tune. Before it became stable enough to actually use I was mostly using FM8 for my FM needs. I ended up not using my TG77 a lot because the hardware workflow doesn't really suit me.
For digital sounds I also use a lot of the KORG collection: Wavestation, M1 and Triton, as well as some libraries from the UVI Vintage Vault collection. For analog type sounds I mostly use Diva and everything from the Arturia V collection.

Thanks for the info. Nice to hear SWAYED in action. I already suspected you would you use Korg stuff from the nineties in your tracks.

Oh thank you for mentioning this. I hadn't noticed the music page. This is indeed well done.Fette Töle wrote: Thu Jan 29, 2026 8:36 am @sheaf: I've been listening a lot to your excellent chillwave music lately, especially to the phenomenal Daybreak album and the transmission EPs. If the software is as quality as your music, sheaf, we're in for a serious treat!

I think Sheaf was undecided on whether to charge a price or not. Maybe if ongoing resource heavy development and bug fixes are needed, then a cost will be applied otherwise it will be free.

?! why should a unique product in a saturated market be free, considering the 2+ years of development/debugging/distribution cost/effort, let alone any ongoing support? I have a standing offer to remix two full albums worth of TG77 sonics and completely fine with a price that reflects value.Ego_Shredder wrote: Sun Feb 01, 2026 5:21 pm I think Sheaf was undecided on whether to charge a price or not. but perhaps $77 would be an interesting intro price with a sustainable MSRP for as long as it remains unique.
and a completely new thread on release would make a lot of sense.

$77 would be a great price.
