doesn't sound very good does it. overall spent a few hours trying to get cloud working to no avail... passed the point of caring now. the response support gave me was atrocious - half a sentence that didn't bother to answer 3 of my 4 questions! and last time they just flat out ignored me. i wonder if support is better for paying customers and not trial riff raff, but if they are trying to snag customers they are going about it the wrong way. a joke really.

it's a shame because i have the system-8 and the sound is nothing short of superb and the cloud version is the same.

gave up on D-50 and now have my sights on korg wavestation VST after some research, sounds as good or better for my purposes... and only 50 bucks and not tied to any shitty cloud service.

This may well be the case, but is it legal to advertise a product you don't have?

I wonder if anyone has had 12 months in and then canceled, they would legally be entitled to their free plug in and could (I assume) take action if they were not given one? Maybe no one has unsubscribed after a year!

Wavestation is a superb VST, IMO.

Anyway, you never clarified what issues did you experienced with Roland Cloud Manager. The vast majority of users (me included) have it running in several OSes and OS versions without issues. I think I even never contacted assistance, past the couple of e-mails in the very beginning, to clarify some things before subscribing.

And since you tried System-8 soft version, you seem to managed to get it working. So, what axactly are or were your issues?

You're probably right :hihi: After 12 months, people simply get used to the fee, and so addicted to the instruments they would find it impossible to just choose one to keep :borg:

i seem to be stuck in some sort of update loop. i update it, install it, but then the button goes orange again and says it has an update. tried "update all instruments" same thing still. deleted main.db from roaming data which solved it momentarily, then when launching the VST from ableton i got a different error... :dog:

i didn't use the system-8 VST, i was using it as a librarian for my hardware S8 but others say it sounds the same - and they are both software after all... this was on a previous windows install, and i assume the sound worked that time but no bueno this time around even after multiple uninstall/reinstalls and jiggery pokery... just gave up since i decided on wavestation VST instead.

i was inserted in a D-50 but seems like they aren't honouring the 12 months YOURS program (pretty shocking no one has caused a stink!) and support is total garbage so that's that. korg wavestation looks like a better option and i'll be forced to manage my patches on S8 old school style. such a backward frustrating company, roland... i wish i didn't love their sound

I had that a few weeks ago (after the launch of JX-3P), and even opened a ticket. They asked me for the log file, and answered that they are investigating the issue.

In the meanwhile, I got rid of the problem the simplest way: I uninstalled Roland Cloud Manager (I left the instruments untouched) with iObit Uninstaller, which cleans it completely. I then reinstalled the latest version from scratch.

Since then, I experienced no problems. Everything is working smoothly. Anyway, before I was simply ignoring the update message, because I was sure that the instruments were all updated (RCM was just complaining about JX-3P). RCM has no influence in the plug-ins themselves, it's just there for installation purposes.

Anybody knows if Plug-out versions are receiving any updates or not really?

plug-in for the cloud or plug-out for the system-8?

in any case, yes

the cloud versions lagged behind system-8 updates a little but i think everything is up to date now... the system-8 VST got all the new filters and FM that the hardware got.

If you are referring to the versions that were being sold by Roland previously, no, I don't think they are being updated anymore.

Yes, I was referring to the ones one could buy directly from the shop without the actual hardware. Is it different "case" ? So only the ones sitting inside hardware are updated? I'm a bit lost...

I can't speak for the ones that are included in hardware (which currently are the Jupiter-8, the Juno-106 and the JX-3P, I think). Regarding the others, AFAIK, they haven't been receiving any updates, judging from the complaints posted in this thread by users that got them.

Ok, thx anyway. I'd consider going for the cloud service but only if somebody actually confirms the plugin can be owned in this loyalty program :D

roland are all over the place... don't think even they know WTF they are doing. you can buy mono plug-outs SH-101 etc from the content store that have nothing to do with cloud.

the content store SH-101 plug-out doesn't have the 4 note polyphony that the boutique has... not sure if the cloud version has. i think... not? not sure, it's a clusterfuck as said.

Thinking this through logically if you’re still subscribed then there is no benefit to owning one. To see that impact you would need to unsubscribe after 12 months.

This is why I suspect nobody has answered that “yours” question yet.
"I was wondering if you'd like to try Magic Mushrooms"
"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"
