Some further info:

Decksaver: "We have tried to obtain the Linnstrument, but were only offered a unit for one week, which isn't long enough for development. If we could get one for a bit longer, we would consider doing one, though."

Me: "How long do you think you'd need one for? Where are you based? I can mention it on the Roger Linn forum at KVR, maybe someone will be interested in helping."

Decksaver: "If it's in the UK, we probably need it for two lots of 2-week stints each as we can ship back and forth."

"If overseas, about 3 months as shipping back isn't really feasible. It might have been Roger we initially had the conversation with, but he didn't have a unit to spare."

I'm in France, and can't currently consider sparing my 200 for 3 months, but if someone wants to talk to them about it I'm guessing they'd be open to some kind of arrangment.

I’m afraid I just don’t see any reason for a Decksaver for LinnStrument. Decksavers are hard plastic covers intended to protect products with knobs, buttons, sliders sticking out of the panel against physical damage. But LinnStrument has no such controls sticking out of the panel and its polyurethane-coated silicone playing surface is waterproof and easily cleaned with a moist cloth. And it comes with a travel case.

Earlier in this thread, some folks commented on getting back the desk space taken up by their LinnStruments.
I have made up a sliding shelf for my LS200 and screwed it under my desk's bottom surface.
The shelf runners are similar to the type used in kitchen units for large, heavy drawers but specifically made for an under desk keyboard shelf.
As the Linnstrument is so low in height, the bottom surface of the wooden, sliding shelf ends up 57mm below my desk's bottom surface.
The distance between the desk's bottom surface and the top surface of the sliding shelf is 38mm.
The sliding shelf's runners stick out a bit below (8mm) the shelf but well away from my legs. The sliding shelf is pretty substantial and very solid. The LinnStrument does not move at all whilst being played though I have to slide my desk chair back a bit.

I think it makes sense, for similar reasons as others. Most often I'd rather clean the decksaver than the Linnstrument, and it would put my mind at rest about anything heavy falling on it. If I was in the UK I'd be talking to Decksaver about loaning them my 200 for sure.

Would a simple sheet of a high density foam, perhaps retained by a strap or two, serve both purposes?

Agree. With the LinnStrument I'm not really worried having no deck saver or cloth to put on top. Looks better that way, anyway!
