Ah. Yeah, I'm already subscribed to him. ^^^ Thank You.

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Wonderful, cinematic opening - huge and empty....creates images / tells a story!
Piano (with added delay) is a perfect addition to the overall atmosphere.
The sudden switch to mangled vocals was unexpected, but works very well - a more inward looking contrast to the opening vastness.
Love the rhythmic. industrial ending...very effective as it stands, but I did want it to rise further with some soaring orchestral melodies above the rhythmic drive.
Great track!

I have to admit that I also liked the piano section. It uses the Other Desert Cities delay effect. It's one of my favorites. The ending was not really planned to be that way. This started as a dub techno session, but I changed my mind halfway through. That bit of edgy drums was a leftover and I placed it at the end just to see what it sounded like. It was strange and out of place... and I liked it. I could easily have gone further with this, but 3 to 4 minutes seems to be the sweet spot of my attention span, so that's where I ended it. I like the idea of soaring orchestral melodies! I have a few apps that are quite good at creating that sound. Maybe I will try to incorporate some of that into my current project. It's a piece about a controversial Egyptian pharaoh.ChameleonMusic wrote: Mon Sep 08, 2025 9:27 pm Wonderful, cinematic opening - huge and empty....creates images / tells a story!

I have been trying to come up with some new and different sounds and approaches to music making. I think I am covering the "new" and "different" attributes, but is it any good? I like everything at the time I post it, but will often come back and ask myself "what were you thinking?". Sometimes I am tempted to take them down. However, I have found that you can never know what other people will like, so I leave them up. I have posted a few truly cringeworthy pieces that have gotten quite a few plays. Go figure!
Thanks for listening and for your encouraging comments. Have a great day!
