Upgrade for me from v6 is $99.

So far I don't feel anything one way or another. Will check out the promo videos when they launch.

Yep they owe us a major update from 7, this should be free for all 7 users, I'm probably going to switch over to Cubase as this was their chance to make things right for the broken promises of 3 to 4 major updates and only getting 2 at best, if you're generous on what counts as major

Huh? OP called it "Studio Pro" Not Studio One.

Also, there's no mention on Studio One's main page of an update. (Nor at Sweetwater either).

Is this Studio One or some other product?

It's the rebranded successor of Presonus Studio One:

This seems like a crazy choice to buy this DAW. I would be mega pissed if I was in the SO7 upgrade plan. No significant updates, to then see a copy and paste rebrand DAW. Wild man

To be fair: Fender bought Presonus back in 2021. This is a corporate merger, nothing special.

Ok, thanks for that. :tu:

As far as Fender's rebrand, what a mess. You can still purchase Studio One 7 on the Presonus site!

I agree, but I also got used to this with Bitwig, you just have to upgrade every 2 or 3 years and it stays about the same amount of stuff/cost as a normal update from say Ableton.

The problem I have found with this yearly updates is that they tend to just add content (instruments/Fx) and I am rarely interested as the commercially available plugins I own tend to be better than DAW filler...but I guess its great for people just starting out.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

It is messy. They should have provided the next SO7 update as Fender Studio, free upgrade and moved on from there, while getting rid of the entire SO branding

Solid yes. Just not for me at this point.

Was really hoping to see the Native Instruments MKIII v2 firmware integration - and that is nowhere to be seen.

Just glad I am on a perpetual license with v7.2.3.

The previously paid CTC-1 bundle appears to now be included with Studio Pro 8.

Two new controllers, successors to ATOM and ATOM SQ:

I just logged into my Presonus account and found Fender Studio Pro 8, dated today (Jan 13)...

So it would seem that those with a S1 v7 perpetual license got the upgrade for free.

I have logged into both my Presonus account AND my Fender account and nothing for me anyway.

AND - now as of this moment - there is no Presonus account. You automatically go here...

Glad I skipped 7, this is an upgrade worth paying for, with quality of life updates and new gadgets and refinements. Fender is a much bigger brand than presonus and they own it so its really just a change in name at this point with some better marketing dollars and guitar centric features (which I like). Fender can probably eat a lot of costs and eventually price this better ( the 99 dollar upgrade price from 6 is fair).

The new arrangement views and Ableton style plug in view is worth it to me.
