Yup, it would seem so. Coincidentally I'd been looking at the Ian Fritz schematics before i posted. I dont know if there's a UK stockist of Elby stuff any more, for the actual IF version.

I cant remember if Thonk have the Topobrillo (they used to, I think), and they're 'closed' today prepping for their knob/pot sale right now so I cant check (a week after I spent £60 on knobs and pots, sigh...)

But in Br*x*tland, buying anything from anywhere overseas is a potential PITA I want to avoid (and it was bad enough before that shitshow.) For kits/pcbs, that just means Thonk, and Pusherman I think. Every time I think about buying from SynthCube I have to remind myself about all the extra costs we always have (things like we get charged for charging us import duty, and sometimes that costs more than the fycking import duty!).

Not that Im only interested in kits, though, and I do still have backlog to finish...

The Befaco panel/PCB does seem to be the most cost-effective option right now, even despite the slight extra hassle of matching the Befaco aesthetic on knobs etc.

But still tempted by the Tarot/Dirty Laundry.

My, that's a lot of parentheses today. Ho hum.

Cheers folks.

My Audity One arrived today and it sounds spectacular.

The combo jack on the front gives me a normal unbalanced instrument input via the 1/4" socket and a transformer balanced line input via XLR for synths and re-amping. It sounds really clear and detailed. It overdrives really nicely without losing much detail but I haven't had a chance to really dime it out yet. I have a project on the slab that would really benefit from some re-amping so I hope to try that out this weekend. Expect to hear most of my synths run through this thing in the future.

The preamp has a balanced output too, which will make it a great color box for mixing too.

^^^ Love that audio amp stuff with all the exposed things you probably shouldn't touch, but do anyway, just to see if they are as warm and sparkly as you think they are.

Nice track! Where does one get that visualizer?
thanks, as shab says, imaginado visual synthesiser :)
grabbed a couple of weeks ago during a sale, so still learning it really.
Bummed I missed that sale, which price I consider reasonable. Regular price, not so much. I'll wait, as I'm definitely interested in it.
I assumed you were on this one! If they do it again, I'm sending PMs to you and pekbro.
Thank you! 8) :tu:

went to thonk to order the pcbs and befaco-specific parts for the Chopping Kinky. Looked at their pots/knobs sale prices, discovered that I could have saved about £20 on the pots/knobs I bought ten days ago. got slightly grumpy.
then discovered they dont actually have the 12mm pots that befaco use in stock, weirdly about the only thing not in stock in their 'we have the specific befaco parts' section.
slightly grumpier still.

rewatched some more YT videos.

ordered the Tarot.

slightly less grumpy than when I started.

So did you get both, or just the Tarot?

like i need more stickers i won't stick anywhere... oh well.

but id prefer my own.
one to put on the shelf, for show, then one to read till it falls apart and the pdf for back up!!
:ud:

i think everyone gets one magnet, no matter how many copies in the bundle.
i may be wrong?
but i read it as 3 versions of the book with a single sticker and magnet?

Yeah, I just get one magnet and one sticker and no pdf I guess. Which is fine
as I never use the stickers on all this stuff I have gotten. There's no place in
particular that I want to stick em currently. I just save them. It will be the
first fridge magnet, so maybe I will actually place that on the fridge. :tu:

Got the Suhr loadbox, it's surprisingly large...

Also pretty awesome, boutique tube amps through fancy dynamic cabinet sims, fun stuff!
I expect it will increase the rate at which I need replacement tubes though, due to greater
usage.

same! fridge magnet is easy to find a place for
stickers, where are we supposed to put them? if you want to know what gear i use, look at the gear, not stickers on my gear!
:ud:

I have a mailing envelope full of stickers because I just can't throw them away for some reason, but I may never stick them onto anything. I've even bought stickers, pins, buttons etc. and then thrown them immediately into a drawer :hihi:

I went for the hardcover version. It looked pretty sharp in Walker's video!
