Just don't tell me my tracks sound like 90s Tangerine Dream, and we're okay.
But seriously: it doesn't matter, does it ? It's just a way some ( inc. myself sometimes ) like to express their view, and usually meant as a compliment. I'm seeing all sorts of associations I'd never think of myself, which makes it kind of interesting. And get to know some artists I've never even heard of in the process.

OK. But I prefer the 70's TD stuff anyways! That's when I saw them live - exceptional.

Me too. But I also do love "Quantum Gate" from 2017, a fantastic album! :tu:

To me it's just interesting to notice similarities. And also potentially a compliment. But some might see it as implying it's unoriginal or worse I guess. I used to never give such comments but I forgot and did a bunch this month.

FYI I haven't voted buts lots of really good enjoyable music still trying to digest. Sometimes it takes me many listens to get something.
It's a really good point. I try to resist giving this sort of feedback too much, but it's very tempting. I agree you risk making the composer feel like they've copied something. I hope where I have said it - it is seen as a compliment. And sometimes it is clear that the composer is knowingly taking some inspiration, like JM Jarre or Airwolf in this round - so I think they would be happy with people noticing and commenting on this.

When I saw them they also had a 16 second natural reverb to play with! It was fun working out how their custom sequencers were working in those days! Of course, they mixed themselves which also created a very good "live" experience.

Indeed - I've been compared in the OSC to Danny Elfman and Joe Hisaishi - neither of which I'd heard before. I took that as a compliment and I'll check them out.

I voted already the first day, when it was possible.
I beg your pardon when my votings differ from other people. I have not much experience with EDM, nor Jazz, nor Funk but I like the old synthesizer music mainly from the pop area very much. So my taste probably differs from younger but also from more experienced participants.
Please forgive me! But I really appreciate the more sophisticated music. :D
Best regards.

It would be boring if everyone was the same! Great to have diversity.

Indeed. I was a bit too young to watch them then, at the age of four. Took me a decade to catch up on all that. Anyone wondering what's it's all about:

Their best album this in style imho.

And "Mars Polaris" also deserves an honourable mention, I think. It's even ( just - 1999) from the 90s

I still have that album sitting in the rack next to Ricochet! Need to pull out the Thorens to play it though! Yeah, great album.

I have it twice since the first one is totally scratched...

BTW it's predecessor "Phaedra" is my personal favorite.
