Korg Collection (V2.0 released, GUI update!)

migration is something that happened several years ago when korg got rid of the dongle requirement . it was used as a way to continue to develop and support their back catalog of software .
rather than saying "were not authorizing those anymore" , they came up with a way to move the old system to a new system . now there is an even newer 3ed system ; software pass .
it is convoluted . but , its awesome !

erm, no, not quite.djboomstick wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 4:24 pm migration is something that happened several years ago when korg got rid of the dongle requirement
They got rid of the dongle around 2009 and it became serial-number based registration at Korg User Net. Then in 2017 they changed it from Korg User Net to Korg ID. And now they've changed it to Software Pass and Korg ID.
The 'migration' was Korg User Net to Korg ID.

Yes, what djboomstick said.
As far as I recall it started out as a elicenser dongle then moved to c/r (or was it plain old serial numbers?) using korguser.net then now to this id.korg/korg software pass thingy.. I for one am pretty sure I got emails alerting me that it was necessary for me to make some change each time.

Issued a support ticket and got a response in less than a day. All now up and running. Man I love these new GUI's.
Thanks Korg.
Thanks Korg.
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

Your comment came off as quite condescending. In my neck of the woods, "Did you read this part?" = "Are you thick or something?" If that wasn't your intention then I apologise.thecontrolcentre wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 4:07 pmWTF? What is wrong with some people in this thread? My post was meant to inform you of the alternative way to get the installers. What are you offended about?Mr Arkadin wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 3:35 pmWell I'm sorry I don't meet you intelligence requirements, thecontrolcentre wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 2:48 pm
Did you read this part?
thecontrolcentre wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 2:20 pm I did have to enter the code I got when I upgraded to Collection v1 in order for the v2 installers to become available from my account.
Here's a link to where you enter the code

Also I don't have a bundle, so I have no bundle code, which is where some of the issues may have come from, so that link wouldn't have helped me but thanks anyway, I got it working with the Pass thing.

So the crashes I'm having (Mac) happen in all my DAW's -- Ableton Live 10, Reason 11, Renoise.
• MonoPoly -- clicking the 'program browser' button immediately crashes the DAW.
• Wavestation -- clicking the 'search' button immediately crashes the DAW.
I'm on an old OSX -- (low) Sierra -- but not sure if that's the culprit or not. It is interesting that both synths crash when attempting to perform browser-access-related functions, but these plugins have their own internal browsers.
M1, Polysix, MS-20 -- I haven't had any crashes so far, and have tried just about every menu / screen they offer. Funky.

^ Fair enough, as I said, I dunno
Hope the issues get sorted.
I demoed WS and am pretty much committed to buying. It worked well for me in LPX and Live 9 (even though Korg in your quote say Live 10). On Mojave.

It's possible, as I've seen only older versions of MacOS mentioned in this thread by people who are having crashes. I'm on Catalina and haven't experienced any of these using some of the DAWs mentioned (Live and Logic).mholloway wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 5:00 pm So the crashes I'm having (Mac) happen in all my DAW's -- Ableton Live 10, Reason 11, Renoise.

How about the drop down menu button on the preview selector on their built-in patch browser? Crashes Logic instantly for me.mholloway wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 5:00 pm So the crashes I'm having (Mac) happen in all my DAW's -- Ableton Live 10, Reason 11, Renoise.

I’m on High Sierra, but it really should not matter. It’s a custom UI. It’s probably something in their own API.
