So you can't use it offline. You have to be logged in to the synth itself.Shabdahbriah wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 1:46 amSooo, just for the sake of clarity; you can use the synth OFF-LINE, by closing (logging-out) your ON-LINE connection, but (obviously) not by de-activating the synth itself. Which (not having done it) I'm assuming you would have to be ON-LINE again, to 're-activate it', again.

No. You just can't log out of the synth, which would be like de-activating it. You can use it offline.TheMaestro wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 4:15 pmSo you can't use it offline. I'm not sure if there is a time limit on that but I hope not. Like how with Roland Cloud you can use it offline until the monthly call home is triggered and then you are auto-deactivated until you let it connect again. Total pain. As far as I'm away Ultra is not like this.

I just downloaded the latest version 1.0.11, and that required signing in for the first time since purchase. I've been plenty offline since then, and Ultra just keeps working.

Having to log in to VST's has its own load of issues.

when you have two spots where you produce, (eg. studio and home) you have to re-login each time.

Try not logging out, it should continue to work even if you turn the internet off...TheMaestro wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 5:33 pmTry logging out, disable your Internet access, then load it up again.Old Norse wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 5:05 pm I just downloaded the latest version 1.0.11, and that required signing in for the first time since purchase. Yeah why would you log out before going offline? Aside from needing to switch computers and re-login, but they've already said that is being addressed soon.

Why? There's 100 reasons why.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 6:02 pm Yeah why would you log out before going offline? Aside from needing to switch computers and re-login, but they've already said that is being addressed soon.
And logging into a VST to use it is a red flag for me.
And if it can be used offline, you shouldn't have to be required to log into it in the first place.

Thanks for offering a discount on the rent-to-own option as well. That helped me decide to go for it.

What would done of those reasons be aside from the issue of using multiple computers (which I fully agree would be a massive pain, but they are addressing that)?TheMaestro wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 6:13 pmWhy? I'm really just curious why one would need to sign out of the plugin?

I'm not here to spoon-feed you reasons you should easily come up with yourself.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 6:20 pmWhat would done of those reasons be aside from the issue of using multiple computers (which I fully agree would be a massive pain, but they are addressing that)?TheMaestro wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 6:13 pmWhy? And if it's not an issue, why do you have to be logged in in the first place when you're offline?
In a era of user surveillance, this is no a good solution.
