Your video very helpful. How is Nexus' sample time stretch in comparison to FL Studio's time stretch? According to the manual, Nexus also uses zPlane Elastique time stretch, so it should sound the same but I'm curious about the workflow.

You should make a quick video playing around the time stretch feature. :)

Eh, am I being thick or what? WHERE can I find a demo?

Teksonik wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2024 4:37 pm Nexus 5 is just my kind of synth. Multi-sample import into multi-layers plus other features. Nirvana.

But without a demo it's hard to justify a $200 purchase. Audio and video demos don't do a thing for me and I rarely even bother listening to them.

I need to know how it performs on my system, in my hands. Is it fun for me to program? Is the included sample content the kind I want and need? Is the GUI comfortable to view for long periods on my monitor and so on ? Questions that can't be answered without time spent with a demo version.

I do really want to add Nexus 5 to my collection but at this point I think I'll have to pass...
Yeah, seconded. I am considering a purchase but without a demo it's a no-go.
Indeed!

I'm also in the same boat. No demo makes this a very difficult purchase decision. Still contemplating.

Bought the Nexus5 upgrade (and an Expansion), but I have some questions with respect to Nexus4:

- The librarian doesn't have the +/- buttons to change the size of text, is it?
- The overall UI knobs and text looks too small in general (I am using Large interface size).
- The UI doesn't look as good as I thought. I think Nexus4 looked better. Nexus2 mode might be the savior here if UI is not fixed (IMO).
- Any plans to add few basic skins? Especially a light skin.
- No preset audio previews? Sorry, they are there.

Sorry if I am missing anything, but unfortunately, this has quickly put me off.

I do have to make N5 pretty big to read the text properly, a text +/- size button would be handy.

There are preset audio previews - there's the little radio button and knob above the main panel. However, if you have one click loading on (in settings) the preview button vanishes. Presets do load instantly for me, so I could get used to this. I like browsing with the layers panel open on the RHS to see what's going on. That's really well implemented I think, the little graphics are useful to zone in on stuff as well as the vol / pan / mutes etc.

Yes, and also an option to set interface size as default. Even when resized big, the knobs and text are still small and text visibility is not that good in my opinion. Hopefully these things will be addressed soon, assuming the team feels the same too.

Thanks, I enabled the "single click preset" option immediately before noticing preset audio previews option. I think it's implemented well the way it is.

- Use ctrl/command + scroll wheel to change text size in librarian
- Yes, the skin engine is still there, just need to build some skins

Oh that's a useful thing that I couldn't find in the manual. Is there any other way to do it on, say, a macbook without a mouse?

EDIT - found it, command plus two fingers on the trackpad. Nice!

Here is a short example of me explaining the sampler page. A bit in, the image freezes for a bit, but I fix it soon after.

This will be a part of the full video, but figured I'd share this unedited version here so you guys can see what I'm alking about for the sampler. The full video will be out in just a bit.

Dragging in a second wave file shouldn't clear the slices you've already created. That's a bug, I'll get it fixed.

The reason slicing isn't working for you is that it wasn't design for drum loops, it's designed for people sampling synths where they record them playing up the keyboard. I will think about adding a drum slice mode.

- Fixed Saw Init presets not having user's name.
- Fixed user LFO3 & LFO4.
- Changing / disabling layer mod matrix entries is now more reliable.
- Added locks back to amp and filter modifier.

It's good you can still zoom the text in library view but I'm in layer view and having a hard time reading the text. This is that tab zoomed at about 110% on my 27" screen.
