It's a bit of a pain, I was hoping they would fix the problems in 1.4 but they actually just added a new one!
I have emailed them about the bugs and offered to send them midi files showing the problems...

Ya, that's too much of a kludge for me, onstage, in the heat of the moment.
Here's hoping they take these issues seriously enough to fix them anyway. Keep us posted...
Cheers!

Çurious to know exactly what the problems are and if they relate to polyphonic play? I'm due to pick on of these up in a couple of months all being well, but maybe I won't if the MPR implementation is shaky.

Poly patches work fine with MPE, mono/unison patches don't. Have a look at the video posted above for the mono patch issues.

Just got my unit and i must say it's an absolute beast! Sounds really good and it's just so much fun to play.
I'm using bitwig as my daw and i'm pretty noobish when it comes to hardware-instruments so i got a few problems which i have detailed in this thread on the bitwig-forum:
viewtopic.php?f=259&t=543604
Could be very much possible i simply didn't set it up right.
Maybee someone here is also using the hydrasynth with bitwig and can help?

If possible, can anyone share a video of a Hydrasynth being played with a Linnstrument! I’ve been checking YouTube for a few months now for that. Thanks!

I am doing a series of Hydrasynth videos for the Music Player Network. Right now I am covering the basics. If I get through all my planned videos before ASM demands their demo unit back (I offered to buy it and they refused, which tells me how tight supplies are during COVID), then I will hook up the LS to it and play around a bit. No promises written in blood, but I will try... I am curious, myself.

Likewise - been trying to find one since release!
My gratitude to anyone who posts a first video of playing, rather than showcasing any bugs. This would indirectly help the bug issue, as more people enthused enough to buy it may also report bugs.

Just got one of my very own at last. Will experiment once I finish squeeeing and playing until all hours of the night.

So, are there any happy musicians of Hydrasynth & LinnStrument ? Any video / music of this combo exist on the internet? (didn’t find any)
I just purchased a LS and was looking for a polyvalent hardware synth to pair it with. Is hydrasynth a good starting point for a hardware mpe? Any other suggestions ?

I have yet to hook mine together, but it's not a huge priority for me as the Hydrasynth isn't MPE compatible and its keyboard is its selling point. If I wanted something much more compact, I'd have hooked up my LS128 to the desktop version, but as good as the engine sounds, the keyboard makes the machine for me.
Check out the thread on new MPE releases in this forum for an updated list of synths that use MPE; I am actually quite tempted by the Modal ARGON8, which is now available in a small module format and does MPE. Hardwarewise, that might well be an ideal pairing, but apparently the MPE support in the ARGON8 is still a bit rough and in need of refinement question mark shrug emoji.

The Hydrasynth does support MPE, there are bugs around mono patches but for poly patches it works brilliantly played from the linnstrument. I think it’s a great synth, highly recommended.

Yes the Hydrasynth has had an MPE mode since firmware 1.3.0.
