I had a similar feeling. It might the ascending phrase/ostinato that starts the piece and the ominous bass that starts around 2:40. But there are hopeful moments near the end. The woodwind like sounds inspire confidence. Enjoyed! Thanks for sharing. :)

I was worried that moving to a new DAW might have a major detrimental effect upon my writing and arrangement process, but I think I may have been unduly concerned with the mechanics of the transition.

It probably helps that I enjoy the mixing process, and have developed a reasonably consistent procedure for that purpose.

Calm, mysterious and possibly even soporific, in keeping with the title/subject. The final section was there to suggest a conclusion, although it does sound less gloomy than the preceding elements.
