Some news!
Ok, I've built a Zebra with scalable GUI, fixed MidiCC stuff etc. - unfortunately there are mysterious crashes. Bummer!
On a positive note, there's now a concept to set an end to all issues with parameter automation and host limitations. In future all new plugs and updates come with a text file that contains the parameter list as visible to the host. Now we can
- edit parameter names to i.e. contain module identification if hosts don't do it, such as replace "Cutoff" by "VCF1:Cutoff" or whatever one prefers
- change the order of parameters, i.e. put filter parameters to the front in order to make them visible to Live or other hosts that don't see them
- maintain compatibility to automation in old projects even if guys at u-he squeeze a mass of new parameters inbetween (Ohhhh I'll love that!!!)
- not yet sure: Maybe (I mean it, MAYBE) make parameters automatable that are not automatable by default (i.e. each snapshot in Filterscape, only for true geeks)

Urp... with 4) I didn't mean additional global LFOs, but a switch to free the existing "poly" LFOs from the shackles of tempo-synch. And with 1) I actually meant sound library functionality. If I made it so that it kind of syncs to host like a drum machine does, then it's not an MSEG. It would be a subset of MSEG.
On the other hand... along with current improvements comes the concept of "Manual Triggers". Which are basically keys. You could probably set an MSEG to be triggered by a certain key. Hold that key for the whoile song and you're done!

Well it would be a more customizable version of how I sometimes use the global lfos in user wave mode...
I also miss this on MFM II when I want crazy MSEG type stuff to happen with no midi input!

Once I'm at the Zebrify FX plugin, this will work the same way.

Not sure if it's a right thread to post a wishlist... here's mine:
1. Ability to load .tun file globally so it won't change each time I switch patch (like in Albino, Rhino etc.)
2. Less cleartype-like GUI (letters look blurry to me)
Also my Cubase crashes whenever I load .tun file whith only Anamark or only standart tuning section present. Is there an explanation somewhere with how .tun file should look like to work with Zebra?
Oh, and +1 vote for "clean mode"

Once I'm at the Zebrify FX plugin, this will work the same way.
Ooooh, I'm already trying to cut back on my Zebrify wet dreams as is...

A suggestion:
Adding another mode or two in the shaper module would be an easy way to greatly expand Zebra's tonal capabilities.
I find the current modes of Shaper and Wedge pretty good, but the others are minimally useful.
I would love to see a mode capable of far more dirty and extreme clipping.
I have tried running shapers modules in series, using the XMF module as an overdrive into shaper(s) (and vice-versa)and in all kinds of high and low gain configurations with some success, but still cannot easily get the type of sound easily obtainable by just running the output through say the Cubase Overdrive plug-in or pretty much any simple freebie distortion plug.
Why don't I just run the output of Zebra through an external plug then?
Because I would like to keep the sound within Zebra to use it's other modules as well as its excellent effects.
It IS possible to get a hi gain sound, but with a lot of tweaking and chaining of modules hence the suggestion of a "high gain" mode.
Also missing is a (good) sample reduction mode. A huge amount of frequency dependant tonal possibilities are made available with a good sample reduction plug

The standard one is Logic is among the best if not the best. The one called "STP" in LoFI module of Albino 3 is almost as good.

I agree that distortion is not my strength... but it's the strength of my employee... remember a plugin called "TriDirt"? - I guess the next revision of the shapers will have some more striking effect

Yeah, I generally only use Wedge.
A sine that works like Live's saturator set to sine and a nasty bit cruncher, as well as rate reduction (good to mimic old digital) would be quite nice.
