I might be wrong, but I fear it's been staring us in the face this whole time.
As per those crucial words in their message (according to the OP):
"But I can say that it’s a totally new product, not a reworking of something we’ve already got."
So it's a totally NEW product.
It's not going to be a synth at all, as they already exist. We've already got them.
When thinking about musical instruments which don't already exist (and which are totally new), has anyone ever made a musical instrument made entirely from wool?
I reckon that's where GForce are going next.
Admittedly, I could be wrong.
But I have a feeling in my bones about this one.

It looks like a new website is up...but I cannot log in using my credentials.
Edit: their blog says to reset your password...so I guess I will try that and all should be good.
It is a slow site, heh.

The obvious key there being how one interprets "we". The collective 'we', or the corporate 'we'?dark water wrote: Fri Oct 16, 2020 9:06 pm I might be wrong, but I fear it's been staring us in the face this whole time.

I'd venture it is the latter. "New" then, being relative to their current product line.

Um....it LOOKS LIKE THE NEW WEBSITE IS UP.
In case anyone here was interested in some real news, reality, tangibility, physicality, real, malleable, non-conjectured, for-reals, legit, relatable, non-objective, not arguable, neutral information. Heh.
Perception and truth...who would have thunk it.

The real truth here is the new website been up for a few days now, and everyone knew it except you. So your "real news" are old news. But you can of course write another post about it, entertain the crowd. It's getting rather hilarious.Perception and truth

Disagree with all of that.mholloway wrote: Tue Oct 13, 2020 8:51 pmAs has been discussed in here already by others, a CS-80 plugin, without a corresponding keyboard controller allowing Polyphonic Aftertouch and a Ribbon Controller, isn't really a CS-80...Arashi wrote: Tue Oct 13, 2020 8:33 pm I’m hoping he’s been working on the world’s first actually-good CS-80 emulation.
Vangelis probably loved it because of its dynamic performance capabilities more than the raw sound of its oscs (bog standard yamaha basics) or its filter -- Dave Spiers himself notes in his lengthy CS-80 youtube documentary video that the CS-80 filter is nothing much to write home about, just a standard fare 12-pole with no self-oscillation.
What the CS-80 did have is the ultra-rare Polyphonic Aftertouch, a ribbon controller, and all kinds of dynamics switches (e.g. many related to velocity > filter and amplitude and other parameter) all geared toward performance, exclusively.
It was a monster synth designed for dynamic playing. Which was, of course, exactly what Vangelis was all about.
Take that synth -- or even, let's say, a perfect VST emulation of its 'sound' -- and pair it with a standard MIDI controller...... that's not a CS-80, and certainly not the 'world's first actually good' one you're looking for.
Which is why I'm really hoping they do a 2600 instead....
