Bazille - most misunderstood synth?

If someone want a real Synthex emulation, just try the Syn'X, and decide by yourself : It's, afaik, the only, and best_seen_as_authentic, one.

You're probably right, your emu is probably the most authentic one, also probably because it's the only one. That however does not undo a whole lot of mistakes that were done. I have been tempted to send your developer an email with a list of things he overlooked or simply got wrong, but then I didn't feel like he'd be very grateful about it.

Feel free to do so. You might receive in return another -big- list of things that are cruelly missing in some synths you're familiar with, and that could be enhanced to bring them to hmmm let's say .. another level, that I'm sure will please you as you'll never have been.

While, you certainly know it, deep inside, it would be for your own good, and a labour of pure friendship, as your previous posts were ( 'I love you too' mode on)

With so many synths out there, everything has to be top notch in a synth, or it gets forgotten about. The concept, the architecture, the design, the filters, the factory bank, the support, the TLC, simply everything. People expect the full package, not just one or two aspects about it.

Sure, I'll happily send him that list. I'll certainly revisit his emu while I work on D2, and then I'll write it down for him. I just hope by "synths [I'm] familiar with" he means mine

The 'gearporn' GUI is very nice, try it out, I think things are more clearly laid out with that on.

The sequencer in Bazille is alone worth the money IMO, very powerful and crazy, it might be the most misunderstood module in Bazille

The sequencer in Bazille is my favorite part of the whole synth. It is indeed nuts and tons of fun to program. I especially love those hour long non repeating drones.

I keep seeing this selling for such low prices in the market - yet I think it's u-he's coolest synth. I do understand how the relatively low learning curve is intimidating (I used only presets exclusively for almost a year) - but it is a small learning curve. For me, it's my most creative synth - and I know it all boils down to how we individually relate to the UI and flow.

Just taking this back to the OP because frankly this thread lost its way just a tad with the bickering.

TBH, I think it's a mistake to sell Bazille and especially for such low prices. It really is a unique vst synth at the moment, and took modular softsynth attempts up a few notches when it was released.

Since its release, a number of excellent sound designers have also provided sound sets for it, such as The Unfinished, LeapIntoTheVoid and ZenSound.
Even if, like me, some people are a little intimidated by all the features of Bazille, these sound designers have created wonderful patches which a design novice (such as myself) can spring off from.

So yep, to answer the OP's question, I think Bazille is a misunderstood synth. I know when I sold it (because I was desperate for money at the time) that I wanted to buy it back ASAP.

So true, and some crucial filters not mentioned in these wrestling matches
are also very important:

1. soundcards and their ad/da convertors vary wildly
2. secondary listening gear: headphones/monitors/audiophile gear yada yada
3. primary listening gear: the human ears yada yada
4. source listening material yada yada

The discussion assumes a certain consistency among the warriors
within the arena, but I think that consistency is too hard to verify,
for meaningful battle, and may be damaged or warn,
in the case of actual hearing.

I would think listeners 20 years old might better be used to compare
various filter/synth output, than 50/60 year olds with the attendant hearing loss.
(finding enough 20 year-olds for a test, who actually care, is another topic)

Perhaps the masters of the oscilloscope can know for sure,
but people who buy recorded music, mostly buy because of
a few main elements in the songs, the rest are common fillers,
even if top notch fillers. You synth/sound designers have made
'top-notch' so wonderfully obtainable for the masses,

Not exactly a faithful emulation. I don't care about the joystick, the sequencer and the confusing LFOs. I only care about the oscillators and the filter. And I won't care about them before 2018.
