How about hue and saturation color/contrast controls, like Sampletank/SonicSynth, for text and background, or even simple numeric value boxes, like in Synth1, so all these new features are even easier to see at the end of a long session? :)

No, I mean stuff that doesn't worky (yet) e.g. Attack Time modulation, the ARP step destinations etc.. BTW: LFO and Detune modes sounds interesting, but personally I'd like to see the other stuff "fixed" first (after finishing "Eleven", of course!)
Regarding additional ModMatrices... where would you put them?
A list (not editable, methinks) of existing modulation routing could be accessible in an extra tab below the grid, but a grey window (like "Info") might be better, opened via a button next to Info. And another button to display MIDI CC assignments...

How about an extra tab for a dedicated modmatrix-view? I'm not sure if you're willing to go that far, but it'd make Zebra that much more usable, I think.

Has the code been changed to allow MIDI patch change via keyboard controller? Just wondering!

Yes, in the latest beta versions... it's in another thread here... just normal Program Change messages.

A new beta version is in the works and will hopefully arrive here quite soon.

Awesome! So I'll be able to cycle through various presets via MIDI with my zebra2 :) Looks like I'll just be buying a new keyboard controller instead of a synth keyboard! You're the best Urs!

By the way: Can someone point me to the thread that has this topic? I have an old 2 octave keyboard I'll like to build a template for and try this out. I searched this forum and didn't find anything related to this.

If I'm reading this right is this true you can only have 128 specific patches in a folder to cycle through? You can't just load up Z2 and select say my "Leads" folder and then start cycling? That's how I use Zebra2 because I don't know what range I'm gonna go after until I start to construct a track. If I can't just click on my "basses" folder when I'm ready to work on basslines and work through them, then I find that a bit disappointing :( Can someone please clarify, thanks!

That's true - for some good reason!

First off, it's a beta version, thus the final implementation may vary (see below)

Nevertheless, it is absolutely important that adding new presets (or deleting one) does not mess up MIDI Programs. Some people use the Program Changes to switch through tens of patches within a song, i.e. in film scoring. Unlike hardware synths where each patch has its fixed place in a bank, computers organize files in alphabetical order. Hence such a simple thing as saving a preset can mess up the order of files and thus corrupt dozens of projects - all program changes would have to be edited.

However, I have planned to support MIDI Bank Select (CC#0) to switch between folders within the MIDI Programs directory. That way you could just put all your patch banks into the MIDI Programs and get just what you ask for 8)

For now I recommend to put favourite patches in there...

Cheers,

;) Urs

& dont forget Keyboard up down arrow keys are supported in the latest beta witch will happily scroll through all your presets for you (even skipping to the next folder when you get the the end of the current folder)

not all hosts take focus for this to work but its still in beta & i intend to bug Urs intill focus dose work in all hosts :) (well mine at least :P )

i think the current way of using #PC is the best for real world use, not the best for randomly browsing presets but i think #PC was intended for bigger things than browsing :)

the banks thing will be well kewl IMO, looking forward to that :)

i will most likely end up with a copy of all my presets in the Program Change folder when it comes :D

On my controller (midi evi) I send patch change by note number. The middle 3 octaves of the range is quite the most expedient approach. How are the patches ordered in the folder for call up?

Would there be a chance of using a method similar to what Kontakt uses......A sort of grid that you can place a patch into. That way you can pick which patch=note number.

I guess I really should dl the beta version and have a see.

i think the order is Numeric then alpha

so renaming the patches with 001, 002, 003....ect in the program change folder might be a help for your required workflow?

So I'm probably not lucky enought to be able to pick a patch and name it "060 Really Cool Voice" and expect a note #60 to call it up.

I should populate the folder with...possibly blank/silent numbered patches until I get to the region of numbers that I can more easily access?

In a live situation this might really be ideal. (Which is how I use Zebra mostly-live.) Has anyone tried it this way? (Patch numbering)

Hey, I got one really small improvement request: Is it possible to add modulation input for the "swing" parameter? That would be quite fascinating... All synth devs seem to overlook this one (?)

That's difficult... trust me... :help:
