It is coming along quite nicely in this part of the testing stretch, I'm sure there are still some sound design tweaks for the patches (that's normal, though) and some "nits" here and there but it does appear that SampleTank 3 is on track for the mid-year 2014 timeframe. Thankfully. If there be flooding, horsemen, locusts, or the like I will let you know before I jump off a cliff but that seems highly unlikely at this point.

Today's SampleTank 3 shot is an Accordion from our Ethnic category with MACRO controls shown. You can see an assortment of others from that category in the INSTRUMENTS list on the left, too:

by the pictures of the instruments on the GUI... how do we know what brand the instruments are... i.e. for the drums... are they tama, pearl, DW, mapex, yamaha, roger (ole skool), etc, etc ,etc... how about the cymbals... zildjian, paiste, sabian, meinl etc, etc, etc... since there are no patches available... could we know what brand are the instruments...

As equally important to me are which heads are used in each set. Hydraulic? Fibreskin? Plastic? Goatskin? It does make a difference as much or even more than the shell. (Don't worry, it's a rhetorical posit and nothing more). I see a summary of seventeen ethnic instruments but the screen shot cuts off the last five. Could we get a glimpse of the rest of the list there?

i am still sticking with my guesstament... the third quarter 2014 and the DOW JONES INDUSTRIAL will be at 17000... i have this in one of my old post... when ST 3 actually comes out i want to see how close i am/was...

The exact middle of the year is longer than that from now but we are doing well toward our internal target date...

I had learned at school that there are 12 months in a year. So the mid of the year begins at the end of the sixth, or at the beginning of the seventh if you prefer... (a good precision for the nitpickers)

is there a difference between internal target date and release date... my guesstament is for the release date... i.e. the day individuals could purchase it and install it on his/her machine(s)...

June 1st is the beginning of the quarter.
June 27th at midnight would be the exact middle of the year.
Business usually deals in quarters though.
(BTW, in the States, the IRS considers June 1st as the middle of the year.
And nothing is certain but death and taxes).

But again, my serious question was if we could get the rest of the list for those ethnic instruments?

Information about drum heads would be cool too, but I understood when I asked it, it was probably beyond the scope of information available.

The 17 appears to be the category number for the Ethnic instruments. Look how low in the alphabet it is where it's cutoff to see that there must be many more than 17.

Plus, it looks like Voices is category 16 above it.

i think the pricing will be out in the 2nd quarter... along with pre-orders... actually having ST 3 on your hard drive? 3rd quarter... nothing curved in stone... but my guesstament!!!

about "free upgrade for long time users"... well... that information has been provide... upgrades start at $99... but details of all the upgrade opinions have not been been stated...
