July 2 is exact middle of the year according to my calculation but I did it casually as it has absolutely no correlation with the date we're shooting for. I will post lists when I am allowed to, at this time I don't have a full list of ethnic instruments I am able to post for that reason.BBFG# wrote:June 1st is the beginning of the quarter.
June 27th at midnight would be the exact middle of the year.
Business usually deals in quarters though.
(BTW, in the States, the IRS considers June 1st as the middle of the year.
And nothing is certain but death and taxes).![]()
But again, my serious question was if we could get the rest of the list for those ethnic instruments?
Information about drum heads would be cool too, but I understood when I asked it, it was probably beyond the scope of information available.

i find this whole situation funny... late November 2013 i believe i read something to the order of this... "i guarantee a year-end 2013 release of ST 3"... i find it amazing how off the mark that prediction was... here we are in May 2014 and the instrument list is not finalized yet...WOW!!!

I correct the calculation (I think I ten-keyed the days dyslexic before dividing).Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:July 2 is exact middle of the year according to my calculation but I did it casually as it has absolutely no correlation with the date we're shooting for. So then, 'Midnight, between July 1st and 2nd'.
Still, being that IKM is a business, the quarter starts on the June 1st and pretty much ends on August 31st? And you're now already starting the hedging of time again. Doesn't bode well. As I said, June first is the beginning of the quarter and we can assume you're bumping that into the middle of the quarter at this point.
So can we start the new 'countdown' to release as 36 days by your calculation then?

Or how about those drum head materials?

As I pointed out on the previous page, there's certainly more than 5 more ethnic instruments. "17'" is the category number for the ethnic instruments (and 16 is for Voices).BBFG# wrote:So do we know what those other five Ethnic Instruments are?BBFG# wrote: (BTW, in the States, the IRS considers June 1st as the middle of the year.

Yes, there are probably between twenty and thirty if we count some which are probably classed elsewhere in acoustic instruments (zithers, flutes, etc.)...jsp1979 wrote:As I pointed out on the previous page, there's certainly more than 5 more ethnic instruments. As I aksed, what are those other five instruments? I can see clearly that it shows 17 available but the screen shot cuts off the last five!jsp1979 wrote:As I pointed out on the previous page, there's certainly more than 5 more ethnic instruments. Without counting this pack ($12 for more than a hundred of instruments!) which will remain usable in ST3:

Still, those are from ST2 and the screen shot are for additional sets found in ST3. So we keep circling back to the question. It says 17, it shows 12, leaving me wondering what the other new five could be?BlackWinny wrote:Without counting this pack ($12 for more than a hundred of instruments!) which will remain usable in ST3:

We all wonder, don't worry. But it is clear that Peter have probably directives to show some instruments at scheduled moments. That's why I prefer to not bother him and keep a friendly atmosphere. It doesn't prevent me to make sometimes observations, remarks, wishes, etc. as you can see at many places in the official thread.BBFG# wrote:Still, those are from ST2 and the screen shot are for additional sets found in ST3. We all wonder. But Peter is not the chief in the project.

Well, with only 36 days left to the exact middle of the year, it certainly isn't hostile to ask from what is shown.BlackWinny wrote:We all wonder, don't worry. Does it intend to have its own type of 'Custom Shop' implemented too?
(This could be a deal breaker for me if it does).

It would be a deal breaker of course for many of us (including me).

And for me too... since almost 80% of my music is a modern euro-chinese new age style due to one of my two origins.BBFG# wrote:And the ethnic instruments are honestly what interests me the most.

Now back to that other question of just what those five missing instruments are.
From what I see on FB:
Dulcimer 2; Electric Sitar; Gamelans; Gu Zheng; Indian Bamboo Flute
